meat. Beans. Spices. Tomatoes. Keep the cheese and noodles in the Alfredo.

Actually Beans are not in "real" chili.

Depends.

But many chili cook offs don't include chili with beans.

We needed a change of scenery and new adventures. The crime, the heroin, the BS...it just was depressing.

So, we left. Moved to the best state ever! The Centennial State, Colorado.

And? I LOVE it.   Big Grin

I do miss me some Skyline though. What I wouldn't give for a couple of cheese coneys and half order of garlic bread...Nom.

Just thought I'd share.

Oh, and the Bronco Love is real out here. Playing the game over the intercom at gas stations real... Ninja
I used to live in Denver. King Supers is owned by Kroger, and if you go to the frozen section, you will find all the Skyline you can eat.

Not the first, nor the last time I anticipate, you and I have had this disco.  Probably about time for a classic Benton chili recipe thread on these boards.  Leaves are a turnin.

I've won chili cook-offs (local stuff, nothing to write home about). But chili is 90% about the smell. You throw in all your stuff and if it smells right, it almost always tastes right.

Mellow

Meat. Beans. Tomato. Spices.

Low and slow, you've got chili. Add in noodles, you've got spicy spaghetti.

What I am saying is if you entered a chili contest and put beans in your Chili you would be disqualified because chili isn't supposed to have beans in it. I agree with you though Texas style chili is really good its just not as good as the Nati style chili.

The people here are SO nice, it's unnerving, lol. The views never get old. Looking at Pikes Peak as we speak!

We are hopefully going out towards Breck this week to see the Aspen groves/fall foliage and to just do a little sightseeing before reality, and work, creeps back into our lives.

I really could be on a perma vacay out here....

If I wasn't a KY native, I would have retired there.

You mean Cañon City? Or is there an actual Canyon City here, too?  Wink

We took a little back road trip down to Pueblo this week. The views were amazing. Thought we were in some sort of national park, but we weren't.

It really never gets old!

YES! And the Loaf 'n Jug is also owned by them. I'll rack up my Kroger points in no time, lol.

When we came out in early September I thought it was called King Scoopers, lol...Now I just call it King Kroger's.

ThumbsUp

Who knows if we will ever move back but I REALLY needed a change of pace, life, scenery and had to get away from a few toxic and horrible members of my family. Nothing makes a statement like picking up and leaving for someplace as awesome as Colorado and 1,200 miles away! They can keep their miserable bullshit. I'm not interested in that life.  Ninja

We were actually going to try an open a Cincinnati chili restaurant...Thinking about it anyway.

All the stoners here would love the addition of noodles and cheese to their chili, I believe.

They've got a TON of noodle restaturants...Not much cheese though.  Confused

They don't let Kentuckians in?  I can see that.

Colorado is definitely a cool place though.  I would never get tired of the views there....unless you're in the eastern part of the state.  Those views are super-forgettable.

Yes, the don't call it the plains for nothing! Lol! Tongue
