They could also choose to do a hold-in during preseason and even hold out for about half the season and report in time for the season to count as part of their accrued season. (The old CBA said they had to be ready to play at least 6 games to get an accrued season, which means show up in enough time to be ready to play; I don't know what the new CBA is in terms of a 17-game season.)
And I don't think Tee has signed his tag yet, so he could wait until the end of preseason to sign the tag.
