The Dolphins are tanking with youth.

We're trying to win and look like we're tanking.

That's the toughest part.  At least teams that tanked have a truckload of high draft picks to look forward to.  Add that to front offices that might actually show real free agent activity, and you have a team that might have a chance of turning over a bad roster quickly.

This team has zero urgency to improve.  They've shown that they don't care.  Smear the turd on them.  They deserve it.  Every ounce.  I'll never feel sorry for a billionaire like Mike Brown or any of his kin for the shit that they get.  All they are doing is slowly milking their cash cow for family jobs without taking any real steps to get better.  They don't give a shit what anyone says about them anyway.  Why should fans get upset about it?

This team ownership is not just lazy.  This team ownership is not just inept.  This team ownership is not just arrogant for no reason.  They are a bad combination of all three.

No reason to leave, that’s just nonsense. Maybe just take a break till the team does better. This is a message board and it will always be a reflection of the teams performance. They suck now so of course your going to run across some negative post and being 0-6 there’s plenty out there. But I guarantee anyone who post on here on a regular basis is a fan of this team. Positive or negative, doesn't matter. Nobody has to be a fan of the owner, coaches or even every player, there have been plenty of players that I’ve hated in the past and now. You have passionate fans that get upset when the team plays bad ( I’m in that category) then you have fans who will remain positive no matter what, and finally fair weather fans. Personally I have to give you credit for your ability to be so positive with the current state of this franchise. I couldn’t do it, there are times where I just don’t care anymore but that’s just my way of dealing with this shit show.

I guess all I’m trying to say is if anyone takes the time to post on here good or bad on a regular basis they obviously care about this team and fan hood as well as how they cope with this mess shouldn’t be questioned.

I’m never going to vote for someone to leave these boards. Between this board and the old boards, I’ve been a part of this community since 2006. This has always been a tight knit community and I enjoy it. I look forward to coming here and posting and chatting. You always provide good insight and are just a generally very good member of these boards.

I get Trucks frustration but let's be honest here. Our team sucks and there is no hope that ownership will do the right things to make it right. With that being said it's way better here than in Twitter.
Right now the most frustrating thing is guys like Geno & Carlos are being blamed for the defense but yet Vigil & Brown get very little.( On Twitter not here so much)

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

The whiner fans have more energy than the indifferent fans and out post them. Somebody says something ridiculous and it's 5 pages. Somebody says something logical and it's 5 responses. Nothing kills a thread faster than "I hear you, brother"

thebengalsboard.com has become an insanely, "un-fun," and toxic place to be, the past 4 weeks or so and me personally, I don't wish to be a part of it; we are fans of this team, we should root for them to win at any cost. After all, the entire point of sports is to win, right?

I mean, we gave up a ****ton of yards today, sure and ultimately, lost the game. Yet, our horridly out-of place backup OG, played a damn good game at LT in pass pro, we continued to shut the Ravens down in the Red Zone (1 of 4 drives, was it? that they got TDs) and Tate looked superb, not to mention we played a great team on teams.

Not to mention as well (of course, no one has mentioned it or anything), there were *2* fumbles that weren't called on the field (both should've been challenged, that's on ZT), that would've taken off 10 points and almost 90 yards off as well. AND Boyd caught the ball, fumbled before going OB (WITH NO WHISTLE EITHER; it was only blown after Erickson picked it up and then the incomplete signal was given), which would've been a TD (Erickson scooped it and was gone). Canady holds Tate's shoulder clearly, EVEN REVIEW IT and see it is blatant, still no call. Does it again on Erickson, still no call.

No matter how shittily we play, if we still have a chance late, it is beyond infuriating when refs continually **** us over or do things that go against us.

So to see people spewing hate and vitriol, poisonous words and nasty shit towards the team we are FANS of, it just disheartens me to death and quite frankly, pisses me the **** off; you people must have REALLY miserable and terrible lives, when fights are picked and hate has to be spewed behind your computer.

Anyways, if I'm the only person who feels this way, then I guess I'm the only loser on the planet with this attitude, but in an effort to make this place more tolerable and actually a fun community again, I propose a bet; a retirement/I quit/whatever you want to call it, bet.

I should've been more bold and done it this week (when I originally thought about it), but I held back on Wednesday or so. Anyways:

If the Bengals lose next week (since a bunch of the goons on here want that: you know who you are), I will leave the boards forever and quite frankly, I will be thrilled not to read constant shitposts and the sarcastic snark that has made up the majority of posts the last few weeks.

If the Bengals win next week (since I appear to be one of the few on here who actually wants to see that), I stick around and anyone who wants in on this bet, has to leave the boards forever. It would be nice to root for this team to win again, as we should.

And before you talk about, "better draft pick," whether we have the first or 31st pick, a QB won't help, so no, it won't help to tank.

Since I have people posting days after my last post, being sarcastic and taking the piss out of me (again, you know who you are), I would LOVE for you guys to be in on this bet, but I'm not forcing anyone to do anything.

I am proposing this, in an effort to make this place just a bit less crappy and a bit more positive again, as I feel I contribute positively, more often than not (yes, I realise the paradoxical posting of a quite negative post, after writing that I try to be positive).

I've contributed to this board (mothership too) since 2009, I have donated money to help out this board as much as I possibly (so have many of you, I know) can, so I don't want to see it continue to be the depress-fest that it has become; I know that even if we win next week, people will still take the piss out of the team, but whatever; I can only do what I can do.

So, any takers? Let's get a bit exciting for once this year, instead of being angry and gloomy.

I'll take your bet!

Enough sugar coating, we lost and we have the worst record in the league

The only bright spot this year is Marvin is gone and we may have a top 3 pick

Hiring Taylor pretty much flies in the face of ownership refusing to change though. Everyone wanted to dump Marvin (me included) and get a new younger coach who understands the game as it is played today. That's Taylor. He's a 1st time HC, he's going to have growing pains.

Yeah the Dolphins are projected to have $100 million in cap space...plus it's Miami. They are in a division with the Patriots too...so they'll time their rebuild for after Brady is gone.

I've read some articles about how they are doing the rebuild correctly.

I have been saying FOREVER that the refs are awlful and screw us every week, but until ZT does something about it,its just going to continue.

How he’ll be as a HC in the long term remains to be seen, but his play calling has been terrible. It’s not very encouraging.

It's on: We lose one of PDub80 or Truck!

While the Jags only have 2 wins, I saw that all of their losses were to 5-1 or 6-0 teams. So there's a chance that they are really good.

Meanwhile, the Bengals have lost to the Steelers and Cardinals who had no wins.

How about everyone stay as but we agree as a community to turn the heat down a bit? Want to be critical of how the team plays or how a player plays? Have at it but restrict it to what happens on the field. And no flaming each other. You can have a board that is for a losing team and criticizes it but doesn’t turn into a flame storm all the time - way back when the OLD Bengals forums on AOL were like that.

Maybe even those that are revelling in the current situation to prove how knowledgeable they are. All out tanking had never worked in this league. The Browns did it, then spent a some loot on FAs, and made some moves. They're still losers. The only difference is their payroll is higher.

Good post Jason.   There's going to be growing pains and frustration.  I went to the Cardinals game and my son was panicked for the 5 minutes the team put two scores together.   He wants that top pick.

We won't get it, and I'll be honest I don't know what should be done.   And I don't want players who don't want to fight  either.

There's a nice article in the Athletic by Paul Dehner talking about what Sean Williams has been playing through.  Pretty inspiring really.

The big frustration right now is (obviously) the front office and the coaching staff.   I really thought we had a promising situation here, but I've been very disillusioned by the play calling and the very poor decisions (e.g. the foolish challenge and the foolish non challenge).  But there's still a chance they may grown into the role.  Just not promising.

But I know this Truck - none of us want you to leave.   You are way too valuable to the boards.   We're all in the same boat brother, let the rats dive overboard!

Yes - There is atleast some chance that a HC who is also the OC...who has failed as OC in each of his last stints as OC can 'put it together'.
