If you wondering what in the hell this thread is supposed to mean then that's probably understandable. The point of this thead is simple; sometimes seeing is better than hearing.
This really puts into perspective just how much less this franchise invests into the quality of their team.

Does the Media in Cincy ever inquire the team directly
Why it has the smallest front office in the NFL?

This list just really hurts to see.
I'm sure I could dig it up but since you already did the search for these teams, is there any other franchise in the NFL that has a front office as small as the Bengals?

No, I don't think there's one even remotely close.

I'm sure they have before but I doubt they've ever got a real explanation.

He's not on the team's website as being on staff: https://www.bengals.com/team/front-office-roster/
Fwiw, I yanked each one of these from each of the teams pages, and exlcuded ownership, trainers, equipment, etc for each team.
Maybe McNally is like a John Cooper when he was here. A consultant? I'm assuming the team website is reserved for salaried employees.

Great post. The Browns got us beat 33 to 9 if I counted right. Let's be very conservative at $50,000/year * 24 (the difference) = $1.2 million.
Now that's how you make money!!
Unfortunately, you left out the GM of the Bengals, Mike Brown. I would think his salary for that is just built into everything else. So, if we're looking for those extra millions, we know where to find them.

Yea McNally is a hired consultant that does a bunch of scouting for the offensive line. I wonder if there 3 or 4 more "consultants" that work with the scouting department.

Let's be honest, if Jim McNally was doing a "bunch of scouting" he'd be a full-time employee. He's 77 years old and probably works (very) part-time.
I wonder if any of these other team also have consultants that aren't shown among team employees. The discrepancy seen may even grow when accounted for. (Ex: Benglals 3 consultants, Browns 10, Ravens 8, Steelers 7.)

Jim McNally has been working for the team scouting offensive line since 2011.

I don't recall saying he hasn't. I said he's not a full-time employee and he most likley works very little.
Fwiw, I'm sure other teams have consultants not shown on this list as well. The Browns for example had Ryan Grigson, the former Colts GM as a consultant last season before hiring him full time a year later.

Yeah but Jackson Carman pickup is putting us first in the AFC North this year, you didn't get the memo?

I dont know whether to laugh about this or be sad about this post.
Just think how many people were in the front office Pre-2003

Which posting here changes nothing, posting here has no effect on the product on the field and posting here only serves to make people more cynical, angry and unhappy.
Well done.

I'm sure all the other teams have their coaches involved in scouting too, but we know that the Bengals expect all their main coaches and coordinators to be very heavily involved in scouting.
The Bengals send their coaches to quite a bunch of Pro Days, 1:1 meets, Combine, Senior Bowl, etc.
So these coaches for the Bengals have to pull double duty in the offseason, and they don't really get to go scout during the regular season because they have their main job(s) to worry about. I would think the Bengals would want to have more scouts at the games, but maybe they feel that watching game film after the season is just as good as being at the games in-person.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Dude get this BS out of here....my god.
So he posts something factual, it has merit, and is related to the front office operations of each team in the AFC North but yet it only serves to make people more cynical, angry and unhappy?
I'd rather hear/see someone post something has facts behind it than someone try and bullshit me to death.

What a terrible post.
In case you hadn't checked, nothing we do or say on this forum has any effect in the product of the field. We're all here to talk about the team and the issues that surround it. I feel like this is noteworthy. Obviously others do as as well.
There is nothing worse than when people masquarade behind the idea that a talking point changes nothing and therefore shouldn't be discussed. When in reality they've let this fact slide out on the other 3,435,657 posts on this forum and are only drawing attention to it now because they're butthurt.
