Damar Hamlin

If you are going to go into cardiac arrest there's no "greater" place then to do it on a football field where all the best doctors and medical personnel are located. If this happens at Kroger, then the outcome may be different.

Mike Leach is a good example of that.  If he would have had his issue at a game or practice he'd probably be alive today.

Per a teammate, he's awake now and showing signs of improvement.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Sarah (Mrs. Zac) Taylor spearheaded an effort at her kids school to make get well cards for Damar. Their school plus 40 other CPS elementaries joined in

Doctors announce his brain is neurotically intact. Kalir Elam says he’s awake.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Three seperate updates on Damar Hamlin in the last 15 minutes and all are very positive:

- His agents say he has shown substantial improvement.

- A teammate tweeted he’s awake.

- The Bills say he appears to be neurologically intact.

Slowly but surely. Awesome to see.

Wonderful news. Pray for a full recovery for the man, and hopefully the above means we're on that path.

Here's a quote from the Bills update:

"Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours," the team said. "While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. We are grateful for the love and support we have received."

So I guess there were winners from Monday night’s game after all - the Bengals’ and Bills’ medical staffs, the first responders who were on the field and the doctors and nurses at UC all deserve freakin’ Lombardi trophies.

I caught this in the NFL article.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Hamlin opened his eyes on Wednesday night, is responsive and has been gripping the hands of those close to him.
