Also, Lively 3.72 vs Henry 3.89, Williamson 5.21 vs TBD (2 starters on IL) and Weaver 7.22 vs TBD - Davies 1-5 7.38 would be due but not listed anywhere. Maybe they gave up on him. Another 1st place team stuck with a 7+ ERA 5th starter that recently fell into 2nd place. Which is kind of why I figured that the Reds would just ride it out with Weaver. There's going to be a lot of competition for a lot of mediocre starters and they have two pitchers coming back soon. Weaver is scheduled two more starts before the trade deadline This one and vs the Dodgers. Yikes!
Luckily, as they miss, yet another ace, Cincinnati will miss Gallen. I think they crushed him his first matchup against the Reds as a rookie and then he has pretty much dominated them ever since, so that's another fortunate roll of the dice.
I keep watching the Reds transactions list hoping and praying it says Weaver optioned to AAA. Call up somebody? Start somebody out of the bullpen? Trade for somebody? Get someone out of the stands? The whole winning games 12-10 thing when Weaver starts has run its course.

I just don't understand that. Bases loaded, 1 out, the pitcher just walked 2 guys in a row and then hit a 3rd guy with a pitch. Why are you swinging at the first pitch?

Reds win and it would be great for Reds to win Saturday and make sure they win this Arizona series and then go for the sweep Sunday.
That pitcher was hitting 101 mph, and then McLain hit a grand slam homer on what they claim was a pitch at 109 MPH. We saw that with Chapman sometimes though and certainly with Hunter Greene. Major Leaguers can hit the fastball, even if over 100 mph. In the Big League a pitcher needs good pitches besides the Heater. I remember Lee May having trouble with the outside curve, but Lee May and Big Klu got that fixed. The pitchers in the majors have some wicked breaking pitches, and they need to, because big league hitters can jack a fastball if that's the only pitch you got. Mario Soto had a great fastball, but he had one of the best change up's ever. Tom Seaver had other pitches besides his great fastball.

The pitch was 101mph. I think the exit velo off the bat was 109mph.

Arizona's TBD starting pitcher is Brandon Pfaadt who is 0-3 with a 9.82 ERA. On paper the Reds should drill this guy.

Bases loaded with 0 outs and you don't score. Inexcusable.

Didn't realize Brandon Pfaadt was actually Cy Young's secret great great grandson.

Wasn't expecting a pitchers duel especially when one of them has a nearly 10 ERA.
