I also play devils advocate a lot in life... as like you the older I've got the less I'm inclined to do so.
That said there is a balance and Fred was a bit over the top. I wouldn't mind seeing him back as long as he was on a short leash. People do learn believe it or not to behave better even in their older age I think :)

Chase likes to mess with everyone, he is a funny dude.
The calf has been a reason why Burrow has been inaccurate, cannot throw accurate deep and why the Defenses are playing us the
way they are. When Burrow can run and we can really open up the Offense, Defenses cannot play us the way they are right now or
they will just die on that hill.
When Burrow is healthy, he makes Defenses pay big time for blitzing him. This is noticable to me on how bad he has been against
the blitz while he is dealing with this calf injury.

Not going to lie, Fred had some good posts and when he was his good self, he added a lot of good to the board, specifically stats.
But when he was bad Fred, he would just go on tangents and high jack threads for his own selfish reasons...
Didn't care for this side of Fred.

Ok this is getting tough for me. I’m not sure how to reconcile the lackluster play calling with the 5-2 playoff record. Is he Marvin Lewis caliber or is he not? Do I credit JB with the progression or ZT? Blah blah blah

The offense hasn't been that great in the playoffs. It's never scored 30 or more points in the playoffs and we average 23 points. We won a lot of the games because of the defense. Burrow and Chase carry Zac. I don't think Zac could lead a team to the playoffs without one of the best QBs the Bengals have ever had.

Former NFLer Taylor Lewan was on with Kay Adams today, and he was really calling out Zac and the play calling. Interesting to hear an unbiased (and knowledgeable) opinion on what so many of us are saying.

I think the rest of the NFL figured us out. Our coaches suck so bad they can't come up with a new gameplan. Or maybe they just hold onto what used to work and are oblivious as to why it isn't working now? You would think our confidence would be shaken enough to get into win mode. But no, we're just so flipping great we're going to the playoffs. NOT!

I've basically said this same thing in other threads. It isn't hard to see. The NFL has figured our O out and our coaches refuse to admit it and change things up a bit. Burrow, Chase, Higgins long game doesn't work anymore and Zac and Co. haven't come up with another attack that works.
Maybe watching the game from the sidelines looks different than what most here see on TV.

Seems for this season at least if Burrow isn't on his game, they are the worst offense in the NFL. If he is on his game, they can make a run in the playoffs. Doesn't seem to be any middle ground here.
