Can’t believe I’m posting this after i posted the infamous Zac Taylor hate thread
#1
But he’s grown on me. Nick Wrights showlisted top 10 coaches and their list was:

Andy Reid
Sean McVay
John Harbaugh
Sean Peyton
Mike Tomlin
Kyle Shanahan
Mike LeFleur
Kevin Stefanski
Sean McDermott
Demico Ryan’s

Idk how Zac Taylor isn’t on this list. Ryans essentially had a Zac Taylor like come up and is already on their list. How can Zac who’s basically done that for 2 years not on the list?

I realize the Brownies have had our number, but what exactly has Stefanski done to be ahead of Taylor for that matter? Hell, he's kicked McDermott's ass when he's faced him, and gone toe to toe with Reid, who I feel is the best in the business. For some reason Zac gets no respect.... maybe some of it has to do with our own fan base giving him no respect.

I think ZT is a good head coach.

I also think Burrow makes up for a lot of his deficiencies.

They played pretty good ball with Jake Browning once he settled down though....and hung in there under Browning at KC too.

Well said Wyche, Zac should be on this list above McDermott for sure and above Stefanski even if he has had Zac's number.

Zac has won in the Postseason unlike both of these guys and like you said has went toe to toe with Andy Reid.

Also what Zac did with Browning last year at QB really made me respect him so much more and made me think Burrow doesn't carry Zac all the time.

I think Taylor cemented the quality of coach he is with keeping the team competitive for an extended period without Burrow and a no name backup.. easily deserves top ten

Well said, completely agree with both statements.

Thanks, and I feel the same after seeing the team hang tough without Burrow.

Agreed, Browning was such a an unknown, and they kept the team in the hunt and finished above .500. I've always supported Taylor more than most on here, no doubt. However, I was on board with the make or break year, and I had doubts myself about how well the team would do without Joe. While Joe puts the team over the top (shocker), they showed they could still be a tough out without him. Hell, with a QB that had never taken a snap in a regular season NFL game if memory serves.

Yep, the ledge jumpers were in full panic attack when Browning forced into action.

LaFleur gets beyond too much love (no pun intended) around the league, for inheriting a top 5 QB all-time and solid pieces in place on the rest of the team, then, doing nothing with that for the past 2 years, with Love coming up big in a handful of games last year.

The guy hasn't built anything: on the contrary, he couldn't keep a good thing going.

McDermott is a better Marvin, IMO, I feel they'll never win anything so long as he is the coach.

Ryans is completely unproven: if he does last year for 2 more years, then he's legit, otherwise it was a one year fluke (I may be the only person in the world who thinks Stroud played miles over his head last year, but he played miles over his head last year lol).

But the most egregious? WTF is Sean Payton doing there? This isn't 2010.

Zac and Dan Campbell should be on here, as both have built a team from the ground up, solidifying their status and having results to prove it, with Campbell being 2 years behind where we are.

Sean Payton?

What year is it? lol
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Right

There's 3 or 4 questionable guys on there that ZT should be ahead of.

We was not. We was busy planning for a top 5 pick!

Zac is a good HC. Many top picks have been ruined. He’s succeeded in time management, big games, having a disciplined team (lack of penalties shouldn’t be overlooked), and big historic moments (stoping a game, Covid)

He should be in the top 7 at least.

Taylor has three last place finishes in five seasons of coaching. Why would he belong in the top ten coaches?

Because he's had a winning record in his last 3 years as an HC and has been to the Conference Championship Game in 2 of them. He had a poor record his first 2 years as he molded his team.

Name 10 other coaches who deserve it over him.

Let's see,
First 2 years rebuilding an entire team, instilling a new culture
3rd year take us to the SB
4th year takes us back to AFCCG
5th year our franchise QB goes on season ending IR, yet Zac keeps the team in the playoff hunt

Anymore stupid questions?

He’s so overrated and his comments on Nathaniel Hackett were so poor.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I think if the Browns do not win a playoff game this year that Stefanski will be fired.

Good point on Campbell. That's a pretty big oversight too.
