We’re going to be 0-2 next week. This is not hyperbole, the season is over. I’m not saying we won’t be competitive or finish 9-8 or even sneak in to play offs. But this isn’t a SB team. It’s not even close. We have too many “decent” players. Our LB suck. Our CBs suck. Can’t pressure qb, can’t stop run. Can’t run block, can’t rush, can’t throw deep. TE’s can’t catch. No one besides chase can get open. Being “average” at all our positions does not equal SB. You need F’N elite players. And again, as I’ve always said, we have 2. And those 2 didn’t play well today

Why is everyone saying the Pats are bottom of the league? What is that based on? Public perception?

Brisett is a good veteran QB. They have a capable defense and came up with a good game plan to take advantage of our biggest weakness (stopping the run).

Yes we completely gave this game away, but it's not like the Pats are some pee wee football team.

Tanner Hudson can't fumble that ball. Secure it. Pee wee stuff.

Run defense and DT play was bad, but we knew it was going to be an issue going into this year. This is my biggest worry. It will carry over all season.

That's it.

That's it.

it looks like New England knew the Bengals run defense and DT play was bad and just exploited it all game. Stevenson had 25 carries and 120 yards. The Bengals couldn't stop him even when they knew he would be running and there were times the Patriots just got behind the runner and pushed him through the line.

No notes to really add other than it was an underwhelming day to be a Bengals fan. It wasn't that all surprising though.

Outside of Tee and Chase we may have absolutely no talent at WR. Hope Pats secondary is really good otherwise we are srcewed.

Yep. Be prepared to see teams try and do this all game long. If our offense struggles or starts slow we are in big trouble. Teams will just grind games away.

Vegas had them something like 9 point underdogs. Inexcusable loss.

Rankins for Reader is Scott for Bates level bad. Entirely predictable.

We let Reader walk, saved money by trading Mixon, let Boyd walk, didn't extend Tee or Chase, paid Drew Sample and ASG more than the Lions paid Reader, and gave Rankins $12 mil a year.

When we flop this year, maybe ZT and Duke will be gone.

It may be that the Bengals players and coaches thought the Pats were bottom of the league and playing them at home was a surefire recipe for a win and to get ready for the season. Oddsmakers gave the Patriots a 0.3% chance of winning a super bowl, while the Bengals had a 7.1% odds. It looked like a mismatch in favor of the Bengals.

Their 4-13 record which had them as the 3rd worst team in the NFL last year and their mediocre journeyman QB this year who has never had a season where he won more games than he lost.

Their o/u for wins this year was 4.5. They have the 2nd worst odds for a SB win, only better than the Panthers.

Our skill positions are really ugly outside of Chase and Tee.

Yoshi - 6th round pick
Irwin - undrafted definition of JAG
Gesicki - bargain bin reclamation project
Hudson - undrafted career practice squad guy

Moss had a couple nice runs today, but the RB room is easy one of the worst in the league.

But hey, Burton needs to “earn” his playing time. Or something.

There was not one positive. This is a season defining loss. Nothing but failure on all fronts.

I might feel a little better if I got to watch Rehkow blast Charlie Jones’ nuts to Florence.

And someone wash the metro-sexual out of Burrow’s hair. But even with both of those events, I’m still out on this team and this franchise.

This is how a Zac taylor team has looked his whole time with the bengals. We are 1 and 5 in his tenure as head coach in first game. We look lost. We have 4 and 2 and throw the ball -2 yards and expect to get it. Can’t run the ball this year can’t hold on to the ball. The is no OL blocking, they do turn around and yell watch out Joe.

Brissett Had all day to pass the ball. Very little pressure.

Can any one please explain what Zac was hopping for on the fumble challenge? He recovered it and went down. Did he think we recovered it?

At least we did not make Brissett look like a Hof qb.

This was nothing new for the Zac lead bengals we look lost the first 3 games.

The punter did well, which is good, as we may be doing a lot of that.

Yes we took away the explosive plays but the run defence is still a disgrace.

Burrow looked scared first game back in 10 months if he’s the same next week it’s time to panic.

Yoshi and Gesicki stepped up well Chase looked solid but his usual ability to break the first tackle wasn’t there.

The play calling was nothing short of high school standard. Lou is on the hot seat for me there’s a reason why he’s the only coordinator not to be given a HC job.

Just a shit day all around really.

Like....what....

Yoshi had 3 catches on 6 targets for 26 yards.  He sucked.  He didn't look like a starting caliber WR at all.

Gesicki had 3 catches on 4 targets for 18 yards, plus a killer drop on a TD pass.  He looked like a vet TE on a one year prove it making next to nothing.

Offense was super predictable. I think that in the first half every time we lined up in shotgun we threw it and every time we lined up under center we ran it. Terrible offensive scheme that put our defense in a bad position. Everyone knew we would have a weak run defense and we let them go up and run the clock out. Failure as a coaching staff big time.
