Contrary to what some on here say, I saw Trey defend the run on quite a few plays. I didn't actually see him make a tackle on a run but I did see him contain the edge and not blindly rush the passer as some say he always does. I love it when he gets going and turns into "Blackout Trey".

Trey was on fire. Should have drawn more flags than what he did. Wrecking ball type game...

Volson's performance is disappointing.  Was he blocking Carter?  Also, why is Irwin not on Practice Squad?  He is not a starting caliber NFL WR.

Wonder why they docked Orlando so much? I thought the holding penalty was pretty weak tbh, and other than that he seemed to play well. At least in pass protection. I’m guessing a poor run blocking score dragged his overall grade down.

Disappointing outing for Chase, to be sure.

Remember the "We have the deepest WR corps I can remember", crowd?  Yeeeeaaaahhhh... about that..

Wonder what the excuses will be for Volson this week from the Volson supporters?

Chris Jones always gives us problems. But I think the scores are too low because this time he did not take over the game.

Irwin is not a starter. He is Tee's backup. Why is that so hard to understand?

It was definitely one of his better outings against the run. I wouldn't say he's awful at it, but I would definitely say it usually isn't a strong suit for him.

I think guys played harder vs the Chiefs too and focused on playing 'winning' ball.

Lineman wise always important to favor who they are going against
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Tee has played...

74.81%
64.60%
68.38%
52.67%
00.00%

...of the offensive snaps in his career. Over the previous 3 years he's averaged less than 2/3rds and never reached 3/4ths at any point of his career. Any immediate backup for him is going to play a significant amount of snaps and any failure to prepare for that is just a failure of the FO. Even more so when we know that Zac is always going to have a pass heavy offense.

It's to a lesser degree, but it's a similar situation to going "Eifert will be healthy THIS year, we don't need a quality backup TE for him".

Only one offensive player with 70+ grade?
Ouch.

Volson got manhandled. Grade of 41.8. Only 11.0 in pass pro.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Apparently some think that if you're on the 53, you need to be a decent starter at all times.

The Bengals chose to draft a guy who needed polishing.
The Bengals chose to let Boyd walk in FA.
Between Irwin (who was ok in spurts last year) and Iosivas, they likely thought they had WR3 and immediate backup covered.

This wouldn't be a problem if the Bengals just forced Burton into Irwin's reps, but I am assuming Burton hasn't grasped all the different routes to run correctly yet.
He's clearly more elite athletically though.

Aren't the Oline scores pretty much the exact opposite from last week? Seems everyone was mad at Cappa and T-Brown last week.
