It's not hard for me to understand but I'm just looking at it logically.
He might say that the only place he would play is Cincinnati, so why would any other team try to trade for him?
Also, teams might be scared from trying to even trade for him, but we know he'd be good here since he'd be home.
Furthermore, if he was really struggling that much at Notre Dame while being messed up mentally and was still good enough to be drafted 35th, just imagine how good he could be if he was in the right mind and comfortable with everything.

No we don't. Again if the rumors are true and he is struggling being away from home, something the vast majority of NFL players deal with, then perhaps he just doesn't have the mental strength to play in the NFL.

I get your skepticism but, after the team interviews him and makes sure he's still into it, the upside seems to good to pass on.
Hudson and a sixth or seventh if needed.
He just turned 23 in July, so he still has a lot left to develop and mature.
He could be completely done, but I still have faith because I think the upside would be amazing.
I always say that Northern Kentucky is a bubble so we had this information (that he wanted to quit) a few days ago and apparently it's because he's adapting well to the big city and is homesick.
He was always outgoing and nice but he never really seemed like the cocky football player that wanted all the attention.
Anyways, we need a tight end and he'd be one of the best we've ever had.
He hasn't lived up to the pre-draft hype of being Baby Gronk, and maybe them drafting Bowers messed him up in the head, but, if we could get him to sign here, I think his brain could be back in it and he could live up to his potential.
Imagine Burrow having Mayer up the hashmarks or over the middle and teams selling out to stop him while also trying to double Chase.
Any chance of it happening?

Yes, we do.
His abilities are still there. It's a mental thing.
Being around his friends and family at the end of the day would get his mind back to football and he'd excel in his play.
Maybe he really is done, but I think he'd kill it here because he'd be the hometown hero and everyone would worship him.

Why would we trade for a guy that would hypothetically only play here? Just wait for him to be cut and put in a claim. I'm not opposed to giving him a look if he becomes available, but I wouldn't give up anything to see if maybe he can get it together here.
If he came here, we might be able to trade Hudson or the rookie to a TE needy team for a DT, but SF is in need of a DT as well so I don't see it happening.

I also forgot to mention something that might have played a part in him being homesick at Notre Dame and then in Vegas"
He graduated early his senior year and enrolled at Norte Dame after Christmas, so the fact that he didn't get the whole senior year experience and everything might have played a big part in that, which being home might make him better.
