Seasons not over, but it's gone.

Yes and sometimes that is the context. But it should have never went to OT if they could have gotten 3 in the two shots they had.

After the defense mustered stops.

the burrow haters dont know what angle to take. They say he's bad in the playoffs. Ok, but he wins and has had multiple clutch moments.

now he's great, and it doesnt matter because he isnt "clutch" and not winning

Really we should all thrust Burrow with 1:23 left needing a FG to win.

Honestly y’all. Say what you want but that’s the question. Do you?

And if you do…. Well you living in 2021 which was ages ago.

Burrow could drive down for a fg to take the lead with 1 minute left, then the defense will blow it and give up a touchdown as time expires, and the guy would blame burrow for only being able to settle for 3

KC 9 plays, 43 yards, fg, end game.
Washington, 12 plays, TD, 12 pt game, 2 min left.
Baltimore, 10 pts in under 6 minutes.

And over these last 4 games burrow has thrown for over 1,200 yards, 12 TD and 2 picks. Over 16 games (I know it’s 17 game season), this is 4,800 yards, 48 tds and 8 picks. This would be an all time season that only Brady, p manning and Mahomes has ever had. Oh and completing 70% of his passes.

The Broncos went 13-3 - 37.9 PPG for and 24.9 against - + 13 PPg diff
The patriots went 16-0 - 36.8 PPG for and 17.1 against - + 19 PPG diff
The chiefs went 12-4 - 35.3 PPG for and 26.3 against - +9 PPG diff

The bengals are 1-3, over the last 4 games - 35 PPG for and 35.25 against -.25 PPG difference.

Well I mean I though I was being reasonable given you was crediting Burrow with that wining opportunity in a discussion about being clutch and I took the high road by acknowledging the missed opportunity without pointing out the fact.

I would 100% trust burrow with 1:23 left. The problem is the other team will just keep going after the defense. Go look at the Washington drive, they went for it multiple times on 4th. They knew if they punted the ball, burrow would score. The other team just knows they won’t be stopped on offense.

Well, we play the Giants and Browns next.

Win those and 3-4.

Could we lose 1 or both? Yeah.

With average defense, this team could run the table. Obviously no player can make that happen, could a coach change?

10 wins is still doable, but not giving up 35.25 ppg.

When you pull back the curtain they got stops when needed the most.Gave the offense a chance to win it or extend the lead. This game should have never went to OT. A clutch QB gets a FG with 1:23 left. We were supposed to have faith it would get done. Like we would have when Burrow was drafted. Like all the fans of the greats. Other fans should be saying they left too much time on the clock for Burrow. No one says that. We are more likely to get a 3 and out then the game winning drive.

If some how the Offense could score 3 more points. In those last couple drives.

But this loss is on the defense. And I genuinely believe that.

Clutch isn’t throwing 5 TDs in a loss. It’s getting one stop even after giving up 35. Or even getting  your team in winning position after having your worst game as a pro.

The absolute lack of understanding is comical, even for you.  The offense had almost 500 yards and 38 points.  5 TDs.  Special teams botched those extra 3 points.

You and Essex are battling for the title, lowest IQ poster, on this site.  Good luck with that competition.

What makes you think we’re going to win any of those games, let alone all? We’re probably both wrong and they split it in some fashion. The only team they have best this year is the Carolina panthers. Out if 5 games the only team they could beat was the panthers! They’re not going on a 4 game win streak.

Bottom line, after Burrow threw his interception, I think they were hesitant to throw the ball in overtime thinking Money would make that FG and not wanting to risk throwing it down the field. I get that, if the holder doesn't muff it, Money most likely wins that game. Hindsight is 20/20

In my 'we're making the playoffs' thread, I had us losing to Baltimore and still making the playoffs. After yesterday, I'm even more sure of it. Sure, the defense gave up way more points than I expected, but our offense still almost overcame it. We're not going to always be playing great teams or teams with good offenses or teams with good rushing offenses.

And as you said, it starts with the Giants and Browns and, honestly, I think the Giants will fare better against us than the Browns will, but I see both of those games as wins and maybe the defense will have figured things out and won't be as much of a liability against better teams.

Not just the risk of an interception, but a holding call or a sack, which would have taken them out of FG range. And probably hoping to gain more on the ground than they actually got. Not a great decision in hindsight, but it is defensible. After all, in the SuperBowl against the Patriots, the Falcons were all set up to get a FG and push their late lead to 11 points when they got a sack and then a holding call, pushing them out of FG range. Trying to pass in that case seemingly cost them a SuperBowl win.

My thoughts too. People talk about Zac not trusting Burrow; I don't think it's that more than he, at that moment, trusted McPherson more.

I get your point. I think my (drunk) optimism on the defense is because I thought we would get blown out. Our defense is in bad shape. So bad,  that it's scary how we got here just 2 years after a SB appearance. They suck.

I don't see us winning many more games.

Yeah Im not giving up on them either just yet. Offense is like 7th in yards and 5th in points, so they are humming at the moment. Defense though is in shambles, so if they can somehow go from suck to blow to serviceable, then with that 17th game now and 7 playoff teams, they might be able to squeak out a wild card. I wouldn't bet on this by any means, but it is possible tho. Just how much of a possibility, no clue.
