We are looking at worst case scenario for a Chase extension.

Somewhere in a paralel1 reality where Burrow had an extra half second in the SB Chase would also have a SB MVP on his resume matching Jerry Rice

The likelihood of Chase winning big after betting on himself is incredibly high right now.  The team has no choice but to pay him what he wants, which is more than it was 5 weeks ago or have him hold out and show his ass.

This was a dumb move and will be judged as an unforced error by the organization.  At the time, I thought Chase was being greedy, but the joke guarantees are not up to par with what a player of his caliber should expect.

He's stands to make a shit ton of cash while the Bengals have a horrific season during his peak productivity.

This was cap management malpractice in every way.

Was just saying the same thing in the other Chase thread. He is probably going to go on and have the best season of his career and
maybe the best of any WR this season and he will have to be paid the most. Just the way it is, should of gave him the guarantees lol

But I still believe this season is far from lost even if it seems horrific right now.

No doubt to the value he gives the Bengals.

I don't either, which is scary considering their track record drafting DL.

If he's at 14+ sacks toward the end of the year and still looks like Trey, they'd be idiots to not extend him a couple years.

It would be Whitworth all over again.
