Well LVR may be in need of a WR of the future. I think Tee and a 2nd would do it. Best thing about Maxx is he has a buyout. Who knows, we've dealt with the Raiders before.

WTS, we may be closer to sellers than buyers....

Back in 21, the Ravens traded for Smith and he immediately transformed the defense.  They went from lost to formidable as soon as he put on the ugly  purple jersey.  It was a case of an organization recognizing a need and doing what needed to be done when the right fit was available.

Does that player exist for the Bengals in 2024?  Would one player make a difference?

IMO a high end DE opposite Trey or a truly great pass rushing DT would be difference makers.  I'm unsure what the secondary needs.  There aren't a lot of bright spots there.

In a world where they actually attempt to make midseason trades, pass rush would be my preference.  If the secondary is beyond repair, at least get some pressure on opposing QBs to force some turnovers.

Wow, excellent post, excellent truth. He changed the organization!! fuckn wow!! I bet the Bengals won't even budge

I would think Dexter would be two firsts Rd picks and Jevon is in the final year of his contract.

I don't know how much Tee will be worth honestly. He's only got part of a this season under contract. Tee might knock off the multiple picks part but each of those guys would likely still require a first round pick would be my guess.

I agree the Bengals are closer to sellers than buyers. As of right now they hold the #2 overall pick as the second worst team in the NFL with head to head loss to the worst team (Patriots). Before the Panthers game I said the Bengals will need to go at least 4-1 over the next 5 games before the deadline to get back into playoff contention. So far they are 1-1 with Giants, Browns, Eagles up next.

Now if we're talkin trading away a 1st rounder + more for someone like Crosby but then trading AWAY Higgins to another team to get a 1st/2nd rounder back, that might be something.

Wonder if GB would be interested in giving up something big for Higgins.
Taylor and LaFleur have that relationship from their days with the Rams too.

Doubtful, of Green Bay's 22 starters, 18 are the product of their own draft. On offense, their only starter from outside the organization is Josh Jacobs, whom they specifically went after in free agency.

But none of those WRs are as good as Higgins.
Watson, Reed, and Doubs are all WR2/WR3 type guys.
With Watson hurt and Doubs frustrated with his role in the offense, Higgins might be a possibility.

Or see about Higgins trade to New Orleans if they don't end up trading for Davante Adams.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: 3-5 so far. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Any chance we can convince Atlanta to trade us Bates for Tee and/or a high draft pick? Mellow

I think a 2nd for Crosby & a 4th for Haason Redick could transform the defense.

The Bengals only have around $9,000,000 in cap room.... They cannot afford these high end defensive players. Crosby's 2024 cap hit alone is $30,000,000. You could trade Tee out for Crosby and the money comes out close.... but is that actually going to help?

Adding Higgins to Watson and Reed would be a formidable trio to contend with. But the Packers don't like to be big players in free agency, so I have difficulty envisioning them making a move for Higgins.

They could trade him for a third and get back a comp third in 2026.

No doubt we need to add an impact player on Defense. I like the names mentioned in Mad Maxx and Hasaan Reddick while extending
Trey and maybe BJ Hill while adding a Dexter Lawrence type would do the job. Hubbard is playing better now that he is healthy but we
need top players on the DL and to let our youth grow in the secondary.

As sad as the Dax injury is he should be affordable after this injury even if he is now a Corner.

Nate, all of that sounds great, and i agree 100%, but there's absolutely no chance whatsoever the FO will do anything to improve our D except hit up our practice squad!

For sure this season, just saying if we do have a terrible season it might force the FO to do some drastic things on the Defensive side of the ball
yah never know. We all saw when they brought in DJ Reader, Trey and the bunch. I know Waynes just stayed hurt, but he was also a big FA at
the time. We didn't expect that to happen then either...

completely different ownership. Bengals ownership werent owners of a fortune whatever BILLION dollar corporation who then bought a football team. The football team is their sole income.

Let's at least be realistic with what we can do on defense. Obviously bringing in a Crosby + Dexter Lawrence would have a huge impact. That's two of the top 10 DL in the NFL...there is also absolutely no way we'd be able to bring in both lol.

While we're at it, why don't we see if we can bring in Sauce, Fred Warner, and Saquan Barkley.
