Bengals defense holds player only meeting
#1
Seems the defense players had a meeting yesterday to try and figure it out.

I've never really understood the "Players only" meetings. Are they just there to complain and place blame, because it seems to me like having the defensive coaches in the room would be a huge help.

This will change everything. They will run faster, get stronger, and make better decisions.

I was wondering when this was going to happen. Do not think it will have much of an impact as the issue is scheme and a DC problem.

It’s better than doing nothing. And Hilton specifically mentioned they have to stop trying to punch the ball out every play, and focus on just tackling and making stops.

Yes, better than nothing. That’s  an epidemic around football. They don’t even attempt to tackle sometimes. I think they do that because they can’t stop other teams on offense. It wreaks of desperation.

Pratt should be the only one trying to strip the ball, everyone else, like a responsible teenager losing his virginity: WRAP IT UP! Ninja

Well, it should have been a very small meeting as Trey Hendrickson, Germaine Pratt, and Logan Wilson are the only players I've seen this year. The rest have been paycheck collectors.

If they actually use sound tackling technique a lot is different. We win both the Washington and Baltimore games for instance.

If you've ever been on a team and part of a unit that was struggling to get the job done, you would completely understand the need for a players only meeting. It's not to complain and place blame, it's to face up to not getting the job done, call upon every man in the room to find their alpha pride and come together as a unit. The change begins with an individual commitment to do better from every member of the unit.

Well, here's another:

They wanted to have a players-only meeting, but apparently coaches and Offensive players got in too.  Seems the Defense can't shutout anybody.
