Bring Back Robbins
(10-11-2024, 10:11 AM)SunsetBengal Wrote: The majority of folks on here seem to believe that it was a freakish, isolated, one-off incident. I'm sure that if the issue continues to arise, they'll simply plug in a new holder.

I mean sacking Rehkow and brining back a lesser punter for one blunder would be like shit canning Joe Burrow and bringing back Andy Dalton because Burrow has committed turnovers this year that lead directly to losing games that they were leading in. Rolleyes

Dangit! I was going to claim hair color is critical to an elite offense and say we need to trade Burrow for Andy….you got in on the swap before I did!

No you just spew idiocies.  And people like hearing what you say because of the entertainment value.

Being a clueless dolt doesn't make your comments deep or meaningful.

And you blame Money for his other misses. Which ok, if that's how you feel you are entitled to your opinion. Be bold and say it. Don't let the fellow peanut gallery make you fear speaking your truth. I applaud you for putting the blame at McPhersons feet. Now do I agree. Of course not. Money has been money from 40-49. Suddenly he misses? Badly?

And you bring up 22. Which I already know and long stated he struggle with Crisman as a holder (that's how I know his struggles revolve around his comfort and trust in the operation). It was the one great thing about Robbins. The improved operations that showed in Money's bounce back season of 2023.

But we can't just remove things to make our stats seem better.  Which people do all the time so no shade to you for doing so.

McPherson was 7 of 12 in 2023 on field goals 50+  That is 58%  Rehkow wasnt the holder last year, Robbins was so whats the excuse for such poor kicking at 50+ with Robbins holding?  The reality is those long 50+ field goals are not guaranteed.  There are many things that need to go right.  Zac playing scared is part of the problem.

But it doesn't work with me. And the things I say are frustrating for some because they end up being common knowledge months later.

I don't want to be unkind, but if you aren't trolling with some of your posts then you lack self-awareness that many of your "saying things" are indicative of absolute thinking expected from a young child.

Money HAS been money from inside 50. That miss wasn't expected. The missed extra point was odd too. Now taking these into account individually maybe it isn't alarming, but when you put all the misses together with him having his worst statistical career so far I think it's certainly fair to wonder if he is comfortable.

I'm not willing to say this is all on him. I am willing to say something is off.

Now now,

Don’t bring logic to this debate. Let this dude cost us a critical game down the stretch and the usual dennys will whistle and move along like this thread never happend.

Using "logic" are you going to ignore that this dude just won us a game? Flipped the field multiple times and had 4 of his 6 punts go inside the 20. Just going to move along like that never happened, waiting for some potential time in the future when he makes a mistake?

That is how some people operate around here. Whatever

FGs looked pretty smooth last night. Thats what happens when the ball is snapped in the right place.

To be fair he only flipped the field once, and the rest of the punts came from around the 45 which is what I had said Robbins could do.

But this was a defensive battle which I did concede we'd need a strong legged punter for. I was wrong believing that offensive performances like last night were a thing of the past given the offensive performances of the prior 4 weeks.

And Kicking operations looked solid so that was good to see.

Punt 1 from our own 12. 55 yard net punt. Giants started at their own 33.
Punt 3 from our own 29. 54 yard net punt. Giants started at their own 17.

They do realize that it was not the holders fault in the baltimore game, right? i blame that more on the snap that was behind the holders back..

Man, if there was ever a time to not read the whole thread before posting, this is not it.

Dude made 1 mistake that was pivotal to losing a game in the 5th game of his ROOKIE season in which he is leading the league in his position and people (really 1 person) act like he should be replaced.

That kid will be, and should be punting for the Benglas for the next 15 years. He's a fantastic punter.

You are not! The FG snap before that one was also bad, behind Ryan also. Last night they were in front of him. Big difference in timing and rhythm..
