The franchise tag has never worked out for us and using it is pointless. Other teams use it to give them more exclusive time to negotiate a contract. We use it it for getting a final year of a guy while he just wants to be paid.

I doubt he is making a business decision not to play.  At this point it is hurting him more than helping.  If you are a GM would you sign him as a #1 to a long term deal?

It's a joke based on the movie A Christmas Story where the dad wins the leg lamp.  Frank posted regarding Tee, "The guy is fragilè".  When the dad gets his award the outside of the crate says, "Fragile" but the dad reads it and says "fra gee lay, it must be Italian."

I get it, too early to tell etc..

Bengals rarely seem to have success on higher-risk, higher-reward players.

Too bad Bengals didn't draft Darnell Washington back in 2023, who was a similar type of well-rounded TE that All is, only bigger, more durable, and even more athletic.
It would have meant not getting Battle though, but with Battle only having played 77 defensive snaps this season, is it really a loss?
The other player that the Bengals took in that draft with the trade-back from 92 to 95...Brad Robbins at Pick 217 (ouch).

Also FWIW, Washington has 120 yards and 1 TD on 11 rec (12 targets) compared to All's 158 yards on 20 rec (22 targets).
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

If you don't turn this movie on at least once on Christmas Day, is it even really Christmas?!

Right that's what I mean.
I was liking what I saw from Battle last year with ~50% of the defensive snaps and thought that might be an ok decision after all.
But this year he's been demoted, so there's little value from him currently. Add in Robbins being released and that trade-back seems worthless.

Funny, it wouldn't let me react to or quote PCB's post. Oh well, thanks for the clarification! The Simpsons used the Fragile gag once too (it may have been another show, but I'm 99% sure it was them, so that's where I know it from.

This is the quintessential American Christmas film, thus I have never seen it and most of the world hasn't either (at least, my generation).

This board has referenced it SO MUCH over the 15+ years I've been on here and I don't get any of the references lol

Looks like Higgins is not playing tomorrow night. Burton's coming out party?

Quote:CINCINNATI — The Bengals dropped game statuses for tomorrow's road action against Baltimore.

It does not look like Tee Higgins (quad) is going to play on the short week with doubtful status, but Orlando Brown Jr. could suit up and roll out against the division rival as a questionable player, same with defensive tackle B.J. Hill (ribs).

New running back Khalil Herbert also may play after getting to town in time for Tuesday's practice.

Check out the entire status report:

DOUBTFUL: Hill, Charlie Jones (groin), Higgins

QUESTIONABLE: Brown, Hill

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

You should be and I am mad
A huge game and Tee is being cautious....
You can crucify me, I don't give a shit, but Tee at 75% is better than no Tee tomorrow night.

Yes he has and it has been much better than Geno Stone's snaps IMO.

Isaiah Likely out for them is huge, that guy is a TD machine. Andrews is still damn good but not near the athlete anymore.

Hope Burton has a breakout game, he is talented as we all know and time is getting short.

The coaches, Burrow and Chase seem to be fed up.

If Washington had All's route running and pass catching skills he wouldn't have made it out of the 1st Round. All's injuries dropped him.
