People who don’t normally follow the Bengals are weighing in and it’s ugly. Commenters are smacking on Zac Taylor hard for his abysmal play calling and for his horrible decisions to go for it instead of taking a certain field goal or extra point.
he has done this for years. Has nothing to do with mcpherson

So stupid.
Bates, Higgins, Reader, and screwing around with Hendrickson and Chase.
If you pay them on time you are not in the same financial predicament.
You have to keep your core - the players that make you a winning team.
Too much money to pay? not enough time on the contract? too little cash flow? too much guaranteed? These guys are not DeShaun Watson. They are winners.
If you want to start turning things around sign Chase now. Start the momentum. He is worth every penny.
How many more stupid things are they going to do???
It's like Dick Wagner actively dismantling the Big Red Machine.

Lamar is Lamar.
If we don't fumble, throw for first downs instead of going for all the marbles two plays in a row, tackle the wide receiver instead of trying to light him up - any one of those things, and we win - despite Lamar's amazing skills.
Then not having Chase as your first read is not wise. And last of all a total melt down by the officials
Lamar didn't win the game - as good as he is. We lost it.

Burrow is playing at an MVP level and we're 4-6. Burrow has 24 TD's and 4 Int's on the year and we're 4-6.
Most likely all true, was that a truly elite roster that Zac had in the Superbowl and in the AFC Championship is my question?
In the end Zac has done more than any HC we have ever had which is why I could see keeping him and I don't think the FO will fire
him which is why I hope he can be great. He is young, but I understand fans calling for his head after this season. With how good
Burrow, Chase and Trey have played, we should be 6-4 at the worst. Good coaches win close games, bad ones lose them.
With all due respect to Mike Brown, he can’t run the 2024 Cincinnati Bengals how his father ran the 1950s Cleveland Browns. Mikey Boy found his Otto Graham 2.0 in Joe Burrow but even a great quarterback can’t play all the other positions, especially on defense. Being 4-6 after scoring almost 30 points per game is embarrassingly ridiculous.

It's the fleur-de-lis, the official symbol of New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole. Chase is from a suburb of New Orleans. It also says "Uno" beneath the fleur-de-lis.

I was satisfied either way.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I don't see the late-game 2-pt conversion attempt as not trusting McPherson to make the XP.
I believe Taylor went for it because he didn't trust the defense at end of game or OT.
Bengals are winless when allowing a team to score 25+ points this season.
The sad part in games the Bengals have allowed 25+ points (5), they have scored 25+ points in each of them and still lost.
The national audience should be seeing the atrocity that is the Bengals defense unable to figure out how to counter opposing defenses and cause some timely turnovers.
This defense is worse than the Chuck Bresnahan defenses in the mid-late 2000's that were near-last in yards allowed because at least they were finding ways to reduce points allowed.
Bengals have no impactful playmakers on defense other than Hendrickson right now. And when I say impactful, I mean turnovers/sacks.
Especially sad given we've seen so many early draft picks invested into the DL and DBs since 2021 (Murphy, Ossai, Jenkins, Turner, CTB, Hill, Battle, Carter).
Murphy especially. How do you spend a late 1st rounder on a guy who has a total of 3.0 sacks and 0 FFs in 462 defensive snaps across 23 games?
The guy the Bengals should have taken in Rd 1 in 2023 should have been Bryan Bresee. Dude has 8.5 sacks in 26 games so far as DT with the Saints, which typically is expected to have lower sack totals compared to edge guys.
I say that with a caveat, as the Bengals likely wouldn't have played Bresee enough nor coached him up well enough like the Saints have, so probably less production in CIN.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
