Xavien Howard visiting today
#1
The #Bengals are hosting four-time Pro Bowl CB Xavien Howard on a visit today, sources say. Cincy’s defense needs some help and experience in the secondary as they try to make a playoff push. They’ll look to Howard as a possible solution.

That would be interesting.

Would probably need a week to get up to speed, IMO, but we'll see if he has anything left in the tank

I don't know how much he has left in the tank, but anyone with experience is a welcome. CTB and Turner seem to be 4 steps behind.

Lombardi Lenny coming in for a workout too.

At this point what do we have to lose? Even if Howard is half a yard behind his experience is still more valuable than CTB going rogue and losing his head.

This is a team that recently, due to poor play or injuries, has needed/needs a boost at: DT, DE, CB, S, OT, IOL, RB, WR, and TE. And shows zero confidence in the PK, and had the LS muff a potential game winner.

QB & LB are the only solid units right now. And the P.

lawl, WR and TE are beyond fine.

The panic and hyperbole is ridiculous, people.

Playoff push? Let's just start with the OL showing some sack, and standing up for Joe Burrow absorbing hard shots and grabs to his facemask...

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

These moves should have happened like 3 weeks ago.

Yeah...I think the defense needs the work. 1 more pass rusher probably makes the secondary somewhat better.

Murphy had 3 pressures on 6 pass rushing snaps. It might just be a matter of getting him out there more too.

I like Fournette. The Bengals supposedly wanted to draft him.

I'm just not sure about signing him right now.

I think that Chase Brown is ideally a change of pace back. Herbert can be explosive.

I assume they'd eventually waive Williams and activate Fournette after the bye.

I just don't know how Fournette will run behind this line too. He's had a lot of seasons where he rushed for under 4 ypc. And several considerably over. His last 2 years, his ypc wasn't that great.

Yes, they should have already stood up for Joe. Yet here we are, still watching him get abused by opposing defenders with no price being exacted by his "protectors".

3 weeks too late and both of these guys have not played in quite a while.

Just maddening.

Agree with most of the things already mentioned.

Not sure what he has in the tank, but we need secondary help in a bad way. CTB shows flashes at times, Hilton is solid, but the rest of the CBs aren't good. Being fast is great, (cough, cough, Turner) but you still have to cover the receivers.

I just hope that if they sign Howard, they can get more than the one play that our new RB was able to give us..

To be fair, Herbert had 1 day of practice before the game.  And at that practice, they were not in pads nor working at full speed.

Winning makes believers of us all

Nice, wanted Xavien Howard, great player in his prime and might still have something in the tank. Should help with veteran experience
at the very least and at best should help the entire Secondary if he still has it.

Fournette eh? I like it as well. Gives us some physicality that we desperately need.

Tee is on pace for 580 yards because he can't stay healthy. Yoshi is on pace for 388 yards despite being healthy getting a full-time workload because he's not very good. Our next best WR is on pace for 168 yards and is entirely untrustworthy to show up for practice or to keep running his route.

I don't think we are "beyond fine" at WR. It's not the number 1 position of need that needs help on this team, but it's pretty much Chase or nothing at WR and if he gets hurt our starting WR group will be Yoshi, Burton, and Irwin.

Cannot disagree sadly. Wish Burton would get his head out of his ass as he has the talent to be an answer. Gesicki is pretty much a WR so
he helps, but until one of these guys shows up and shows a little consistency, we are lacking behind Ja'Marr with Tee's inability to get on the
field.
