***Week 11 Gameday Thread (SNF) - Bengals @ Chargers***

Paul Brown always built from the trenches outward in Cleveland; that was 65-70 years ago.

We are in shotgun way too much, we use a run scheme not compatible with what the players strengths are, we are utterly predictable in play selection and do nothing to scheme receivers open or deceive the defense. This is a college level offensive scheme.

I hate defending this garbage oline, but I will say they never get a chance to just fire out at the snap & hit somebody.  Always in that back pedal mode due to shotgun & stupid pass happy play calling.

What we are seeing is Chargers give up the Fewest Points in NFL and Bengals are one of the Worst Defenses in NFL.   There is your mismatch. Also I was given a hard time on this site because I said LA would be a 12th man on Defense.  I was not wrong, the crowd noise is there, many of you people were wrong to think there would be no home field advantage.

Harbaugh and his Defense are walking away with this one.  It could be Bengals bye week everybody can start talking Draft Day.  Bengals lose this and stick a Turkey fork in them, they are cooked and done.

Chargers have Defense and Bengals don't.   It will be the same against Steelers.  This No Defense means No Wins.

He’s a piece of cabbage with a headset and a bad haircut. Freaking can’t stand him.

He said he was going to start going after the officials for bad calls. They just pulled his ho card. They going to give him their laundry to wash after the game.

Think your going to see 95% of the fanbase tap out after tonight.

The music is ending and no matter what this offense did the defense would never give us a shot at the playoffs.

I'm not sure Superman could carry this team to the playoffs.

They have the worst D in the league. They have the worst two starting guards in the league. They have no receivers after Chase & Higgins.

They can’t draft. They can’t replace players that leave. They can’t develop players. Burrow/Chase/Higgins and some good free agent signings on D (when they had money), disguised the flaws of this franchise for a little over 3 years.

Don’t get it twisted this is a bottom 5 organization. They need a complete re-haul. Someone like Vrabel with a sharp OC…but they won’t do anything. They probably won’t even fire anyone.

The refs aren't helping, but whatever, we were getting blown out anyway.

Disgusted by this team's horrid line play on both sides of the ball and the entire secondary, but I'll be Goodell damned if I'm going to last much longer with this sport if they can't rectify this abysmal officiating.

I stopped watching wrestling before I turned18 and haven't missed the prayers and the vitamins at all. Shoving gambling down this golden goose's throat is about to produce a rancid foi gras. Burrow gets pummelled late week in/week out, and yet some patty-cake called for opposing QBs at the drop of a flag is some premier league trolling.

Gross.

Reader was a wall when he played. But, he was hurt a lot and his snap count was lower. But, lines doubled him.

Exactly, elite talent had to cover up Lous awful scheme, it’s the only reason why Lou appeared competent in the first place.

Our scheme on both sides is basic.

The sad point is the Bengals used to be known as THE schemers on offense. We tricked defenses and schemed our receivers open and everything. We even did it as recently as our one season with OC Hue Jackson. Now we have a way oversimplified scheme with no balance and no soundness.

They had a window when Burrow and Chase arrived. It's clearly closed. Bad drafting, bad personnel decisions have turned this team into a bad football team. You have 3 real difference makers - Burrow, Chase, Trey. They can't win games by themselves. The rest of the roster is VERY mediocre.

Coaching is a problem, but it starts with ownership (has anyone ever done less with what they have been GIVEN than Mike Brown) and the front office. Defensive picks - Murphy, Turner, Battle, Hill, CTB, Carter, Ossai, Sample - ZERO difference makers. Not even NFL average.

It starts with not preparing the team for the season in camp.

We aspire to win SBs. To do that, we need a great HC and Staff.

That said, Zacs here next year.

Taking a snap under center? Is that still legal?

Whew. Slam! But, why, as a fan, do I think we still have a chance at all this? This game, This division, The playoffs, and yes, the SB?

Burrow would just end up on the Jets or the Giants or something.  I guess it's possible he could end up on the Saints or Vikings.  Still, demanding a trade is just going to lead to Mike Brown muttering something about players needing to honor their contracts while he dishonors his own.  Ah well.
