I would love to go more defensive minded if they did move on from Taylor (they won’t). Burrow and Chase create about half our offense off script anyway. It doesn’t take an offensive genius to make that work. Get someone that will concentrate on defense and actually having at least some semblance of a running game.

Vrabel probably fits the bill the most. Of course it’s a pipe dream and there’s no doubt we’re stuck with Taylor for the foreseeable future. The only thing that could possibly change that as others have mentioned would be Burrow wanting him gone.

They wont fire Zac, thats just facts. The offence is playing pretty well.

They should fire Lou, but we all know they wont do it. Heck they wont even fire those terrible defensive players.
But i would wish they get rid of Lou and get in Vrabel to be Def coordinator. Fire who ever Vrabel dont think belongs in his system and just get over with it.
This D needs to toughen up, they are soft as hell and just gets manhandled by pretty much every level.

Agree, next up will be within the organization and Pitcher would be the choice.  If ZT is let go, the Bengals will likely go offensive coach like Ben Johnson if not Pitcher.  But I think Burrow likes Taylor and said as much several times.  

Tobin is the guy in the crosshairs and both OL DL coaches, and maybe Lou.  This organization moves at a snail pace.  I don't see anything happening this year or even next year.  FO has bad talent evaluators or the very least, inconsistent evaluators.  This FA class is horrible.  And it seems players do not significantly develop on both sides of the trenches.

Sure, Taylor is a great HC, if you want to win a few ballgames and score a few points. If you want to see your team win championships, not so much.

I am still in the camp that the best realistic approach would be to promote Zac to full-time head coach overseeing all three phases of the team. Then find a veteran OC that can fully run the offense.

Otherwise find a new head coach like a Vrabel to be a full-time head coach. But to bring in a veteran head coach, the front office will most likely have to make changes, which should happen regardless, for this to happen. If they don't, it would most likely an unknown candidate just happy to get the job.

You nailed it last sentence....after we found out Mike was buying out all of the shares, it kinda made sense. Pinching pennies, hiring yourself as GM, etc so they could get control of the team. 

After you have control though? You're still doing dumb shit after 30+ years of failure? You finally get it right for a good two year run, and you let that roster deplete itself and make the same stupid mistakes you've done in the past trying to replenish it? No scouts? If Duke Tobin is truly in charge of drafts, why is he still here? I could've hit on Joe Burrow and JaMarr Chase FFS.

Yep, I'm not at all opposed to retaining Zac as HC, and HC only.  And go out and get "REAL" OC and DC

Just like the link I posted in another thread about ZT bumbling up the end of the Chargers game not calling a TO and throwing away our next to last play by not calling TO.

He desperately needs to step back and control the big picture. Get the team ready for fake punts, QB sneaks, fake FG's, when to call TO, just on and on. It's impossible for one guy to keep the whole picture, down and distance, field position, game situation, time, players on field, what if scenarios, EVERYTHING in line.

For the love of all things ZAC figure it out. Swallow your pride and help the team out.

It's funny because I just watched the Bengals make their 3rd offensive shift of the year to compliment their personnel changes. Bengals Defense on the other hand creates zero pressure and gives up big plays. Bright side is the defense has been better against the run since adding Jenkins and Jackson.

I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves. The Bengals are not getting rid of Zac at the end of this season, let alone DURING the season.

That being said, if we did move on from Zac, I want someone who isn't going to call plays. Someone who will be the head coach and let their OC and DC call plays.

Because my favorite team has one of the best QBs in the game, along with some pretty damn fine weapons around him, and I'm p****d the f*** off that nothing more has been done to enable that team to win a championship, basically.
