Burrow and Chase would lobby hard for Joe Brady, I would think.
Brady could, like ZT, call the offensive plays still while HC.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I would love to go more defensive minded if they did move on from Taylor (they won’t). Burrow and Chase create about half our offense off script anyway. It doesn’t take an offensive genius to make that work. Get someone that will concentrate on defense and actually having at least some semblance of a running game.

Vrabel probably fits the bill the most. Of course it’s a pipe dream and there’s no doubt we’re stuck with Taylor for the foreseeable future. The only thing that could possibly change that as others have mentioned would be Burrow wanting him gone.

They wont fire Zac, thats just facts. The offence is playing pretty well.

They should fire Lou, but we all know they wont do it. Heck they wont even fire those terrible defensive players.
But i would wish they get rid of Lou and get in Vrabel to be Def coordinator. Fire who ever Vrabel dont think belongs in his system and just get over with it.
This D needs to toughen up, they are soft as hell and just gets manhandled by pretty much every level.

Face it, even with a halfway decent defense we probably already have 8 wins, because the offense is humming even with the injuries. I think Lou might be on the hotseat, it all depends on how they view the performance vs. the injuries. Probably be some position coaches changed, but that's about it. If ANYTHING happens to Taylor, it would at most be Brown telling him to give up the play calling and turn it over to Pitcher. But yet, there again, scoring points is not the issue. Keeping the other team from scoring has been the bane of this season.

The offense is humming until Burrow gets yet another season ending injury. It is pure insanity to field a shitty offensive line and let Burrow continue to get murdered. The hits have to decrease if Joe is going to have career longevity.
Through 2023

Mike Brown’s Owner/GM record: 32 years  223-303-4  .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record:  5-9, .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record, reg. season:  37-44-1. .455 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-2, .714 winning pct.

Agree, next up will be within the organization and Pitcher would be the choice.  If ZT is let go, the Bengals will likely go offensive coach like Ben Johnson if not Pitcher.  But I think Burrow likes Taylor and said as much several times.

Tobin is the guy in the crosshairs and both OL DL coaches, and maybe Lou.  This organization moves at a snail pace.  I don't see anything happening this year or even next year.  FO has bad talent evaluators or the very least, inconsistent evaluators.  This FA class is horrible.  And it seems players do not significantly develop on both sides of the trenches.

Sure, Taylor is a great HC, if you want to win a few ballgames and score a few points. If you want to see your team win championships, not so much.

Quote:The Cincinnati Bengals' stars are performing at an extremely high level.

Joe Burrow leads the NFL in yards passing and TD passes, Ja'Marr Chase is on pace for a rare receiving triple crown, and Trey Hendrickson has more sacks than any other player.

Sounds like a recipe for success.

Unfortunately for the Bengals, it hasn't worked out that way so far.

Cincinnati is mired in 10th place in the AFC with a 4-7 record despite having a chance to become the first team since sacks became an official stat in 1982 to have the league leader in yards passing, yards receiving and sacks in the same season.

Six of the Bengals losses have come by seven points or fewer thanks to some missed field goals in key spots, defensive breakdowns and no go-ahead TD drives by Burrow and the offense in the fourth quarter.

Burrow became the second QB in NFL history to lose consecutive starts when throwing for at least 350 yards and three TDs without an interception in a 34-27 loss to the Chargers on Sunday night. The Bengals rallied from 27-6 down to tie the score in the fourth before Evan McPherson missed two field goals and the Bengals punted in the final minute to set up the Chargers' game-winning drive.

Burrow has thrown for 3,028 yards with 27 TDs and four interceptions this season. The seven previous QBs who threw for at least 3,000 yards and 25 TDs with five or fewer interceptions in the first 11 games combined for a 69-8 record compared to Burrow's 4-7 mark.

Burrow isn't alone in putting up prolific numbers in Cincinnati with Chase leading the NFL with 73 catches, 1,056 yards and 12 TDs. Only four players since the merger led the NFL in those three categories for an entire season to win the Triple Crown: Cooper Kupp (2021), Steve Smith (2005), Sterling Sharpe (1992) and Jerry Rice (1990).

Hendrickson's 11 1/2 sacks are the most for any player, ahead of the nine for the Giants' Dexter Lawrence and Denver's Nik Bonitto.

You'll see John Ross named head coach before there's an upgrade to Taylor. Who are yous trying to kid?  Taylor will be replaced in the yearrrr 2525..If man is still alive..If woman can survive...you may find... Cool

That said, they won't fire Taylor with a top 10 offense.

You're right but this offense is where it is in spite of him, not because of him.

I got news for you brother, it doesn't matter if they reincarnated Landry, Lombardi, and Knoll to run the team, you ain't winning shit here with these bumbling fools in the front office. I'm at the point where I wish I wasn't loyal....lol. Oh well, at least the Reds have won it all in my lifetime, my driver has a Cup, my NCAA squad has a few natties, and my alma mater has two in FCS. Thankfully I don't have to live vicariously through my sports teams like Shitsburgh fans, cause we ain't seeing a championship in the Queen City until these buffoons decide to let football people run the show. I ain't talking Puke Tobin either.

It just dumbfounding that after decades of failure they can't figure out they need to get out of their own way.

I am still in the camp that the best realistic approach would be to promote Zac to full-time head coach overseeing all three phases of the team. Then find a veteran OC that can fully run the offense.

Otherwise find a new head coach like a Vrabel to be a full-time head coach. But to bring in a veteran head coach, the front office will most likely have to make changes, which should happen regardless, for this to happen. If they don't, it would most likely an unknown candidate just happy to get the job.

You nailed it last sentence....after we found out Mike was buying out all of the shares, it kinda made sense. Pinching pennies, hiring yourself as GM, etc so they could get control of the team.

After you have control though? You're still doing dumb shit after 30+ years of failure? You finally get it right for a good two year run, and you let that roster deplete itself and make the same stupid mistakes you've done in the past trying to replenish it? No scouts? If Duke Tobin is truly in charge of drafts, why is he still here? I could've hit on Joe Burrow and JaMarr Chase FFS.

I think it might have been Madden who quoted something like "my grandma could draft in the 1st round. It's after that where you make your money"

Yep, I'm not at all opposed to retaining Zac as HC, and HC only.  And go out and get "REAL" OC and DC

Just like the link I posted in another thread about ZT bumbling up the end of the Chargers game not calling a TO and throwing away our next to last play by not calling TO.

He desperately needs to step back and control the big picture. Get the team ready for fake punts, QB sneaks, fake FG's, when to call TO, just on and on. It's impossible for one guy to keep the whole picture, down and distance, field position, game situation, time, players on field, what if scenarios, EVERYTHING in line.

For the love of all things ZAC figure it out. Swallow your pride and help the team out.

It's funny because I just watched the Bengals make their 3rd offensive shift of the year to compliment their personnel changes. Bengals Defense on the other hand creates zero pressure and gives up big plays. Bright side is the defense has been better against the run since adding Jenkins and Jackson.

We gotta have fingers double, triple crossed that they work out. If not we're gonna need like 23 draft picks.

I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves. The Bengals are not getting rid of Zac at the end of this season, let alone DURING the season.

That being said, if we did move on from Zac, I want someone who isn't going to call plays. Someone who will be the head coach and let their OC and DC call plays.

Because my favorite team has one of the best QBs in the game, along with some pretty damn fine weapons around him, and I'm p****d the f*** off that nothing more has been done to enable that team to win a championship, basically.  Mellow
