It is crazy especially considering they broke a record previously held by the Patriots.

Quote:Add up all those games, plus today's Raiders win, with their Super Bowl win over the 49ers, their AFC title game win over the Ravens, their divisional round win over the Bills and their Weeks 17 and 18 wins over the Bengals and Chargers, and the Chiefs have now won a record 14 consecutive one-score games dating to last December. (Naturally, the last one-score game they lost came against the Raiders last Christmas.)

That total breaks the record previously held by the 2003 and 2004 Patriots, because of course it does.

Fine is absolutely right.  We didn't know it at the time, but that play set the tone for the entire season, which has been one long iteration of Murphy's Law.  Murphy's Law could also refer to a mediocre first round draft pick, but that's another topic.

Probably played a part.

I still think that the half-stepping contract talks throughout TC played a part.  That coupled with the lack of urgency we're accustomed to in August/September was a bad combination.  I had a bad feeling about the season all TC, but the vibes before opening week were in the dumpster.
