They gave him a 76.0 pass blocking score with only 1 sack allowed, which was his only pressure allowed.
I saw what looked to be multiple pressures allowed, but they must have credited maybe to Karras or OBJ because they were on stunts.
Here were the pressures allowed (sacks allowed) by each OL according to PFF:
OBJ - 5 (1)
Ford - 1 (1)
Karras - 1 (0)
Cappa - 2 (0)
Mims - 1 (0)
Burrow was sacked 4 times though in the game, yet PFF only put 2 of those on the OL.
I think one was a coverage sack on 3rd down. The one inside the red zone, Joe had time, just nowhere to throw it. He tried to make something happen as usual, but everyone was covered. Maybe that's how pff grades it?

Good call on the OP, btw..
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I wonder if they ever put it on the QB himself? Holding the ball to long kinda thing?

That's what I was thinking there. I have no problem with Joe trying to create and taking a sack on 3rd down. He didn't get them out of FG range or anything stupid, he just took a sack hoping someone would break open.

OBJr's injury affected him all game. Probably time to sit him until it is really healed.
On defense the vast majority of the problem was possibly the worst playing of zone by a secondary I have ever seen. At this point they should be open to anything (even going to man) to try to stem this ridiculous type of bleeding.

If he needs surgery just get it out of the way. Seasons over.

Cody Ford is a better NFL Offensive Lineman than Cordell Volson and only 18 months older.

I'm not making excuses but in no way am I giving up on the Cody Ford experiement yet. I'd use the rest of the season to evaluate him at guard.
Ford is a bandaid on a bullet hole. He CAN NOT be considered a serious option as a starter for next season. They need 2 new guards.

Ford played Guard in Arizona I believe and not very well but that was a bad team.

Line up Bengal starters from "needs to be replaced" from most to least and Ford at LG is standing in the back half of the line.

Lou plays way too much ZONE.

2 new guards indeed. I think Cappa was a waste of $$$ IMO.

I think, with Cody Ford, some players play better out on the edge than they do “in the phone booth”. He’s fine as a back up swing tackle, but terrible at guard. I’m with others in that we need new guards.

Cappa's PFF is actually worse than Volson's. I guess they dont feel comfy replacing both of them right now

Unlike this juggernaut he's playing for at the moment?

Mixon is whatever. I’ve been happy with Chase Brown. He actually has a higher average between the two.

Yeah, I'm fine with them moving on from Mixon and him having success doesn't mean the Bengals botched cutting ties with him. I just meant it as a joke since so many things are going wrong this season.
