patric mahomes runs for his life on almost every play..the offensive line is not the major problem with this team at this time..and sadly...from top to bottom ..the problems are many

This from the same guy who told us there was no way that Cody Ford was starting yesterday? No offense, but your opinion has little to no merit with me.

These are for loading into the jugs machine and firing into the defensive practice field. It’s the football version of the “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball” coaching strategy invented by Patches O’Houlihan.

Oh I absolutely agree with that. I was pointing to what seems to be the lone weakness on the offense.

Ehh I'm not convinced Palmer's stats were taken into consideration when he suggested we might need a GM 14 years ago. If Burrow can rattle an 89 year old billionaire to the point where he will be open to change his knowingly-bad business practices he's had since before Burrow was even born, great

The problem seems to have been that they do not believe the need for putting adequate resources into that solution.  They know there is a problem, but it never seems big enough for them.

Just too much history of letting our best IOL walk and not consistently emphasizing the position group in the draft (though more the former than the latter).  They seem to think (like Troy Blackburn seems to feel even if he denies it) you can get good quality offensive linemen at Walmart.

And then there was the narrative that for someone like Burrow you only need a mediocre line.  And you would have to say there is a truth to that given his performance.

But at what cost?  When is going to take a career ending hit?  And what does he have to do to get his job done now?   And what would happen to our offense if we had a complete and high quality offensive line.

Someone mentioned that Mahomes is having the same situation.   But does that mean what both of these excellent QBs have enough?   Mahomes doesn't have tackles.  Burrow doesn't have a good interior.  They both could use better.  They're both running for their lives.   None of the super bowl contenders have that problem.

Finally, I'm not sure where I am on the Zach situation.  The play calling is not consistently good and sometimes is ridiculous.   If he can't take himself out of the OC position, he simply needs to go!  And I don't know what to do with Lou.   I mean he has an inferior IDL (Jenkins looked pretty good before he got hurt) and an inferior secondary.   If he pulls up his safeties they're going to get beat deep.   But to me, the bend don't break defense doesn't work well enough to keep it.   I want an aggressive and savvy DC.

If we're going to keep Zach, I feel the coordinators need to be gone.

I think it's because we don't have a big back that can move piles. That said, firing Taylor would be stupid. Yes, he is the Head Coach, but he is an offensive minded coach and this offense just hung 38 on the Steelers defense. They are putting up over 30 points in most games, that should be enough to win. You change the offensive coaches and you're back starting from scratch. I am ready to move on from Lou and every defensive coach on this defense though, yesterday was pitiful.

He's a better player, took the organization to the Super Bowl, and currently IS the Cincinnati Bengals. He is the brand. Palmer was never connected to the organization, fan base, city, etc. the way Burrow is.

That being said, I think the organization will do whats required to make him happy. Do I think it'll be Joe going into the FO and saying "we need to fire the DC, cut Hubbard, etc."? No. I think the writing is on the wall with what he's been putting out there in the media and that'll be enough. I think a lot of changes are coming.

I disagree, Burrow wanted Bates and Higgins re-signed big time. Didn't happen. Ownership does what they want and as Mike Brown once said years ago "It's too expensive to win a Super Bowl" still stands.

Burrow is having a legit MVP caliber of a season, and this defense is equally but completely opposite of that by having a historically terrible season, possibly worst defense in Bengals history which is saying something. (IMO I think it is the all-time worst Bengals defense).

This is intriguing for him to say that though. Is there silence going on behind the scenes between front office and the team, leaving him feeling like he has to say something? I mean if there has been a concerned effort by THE FAMILY letting everyone know changes are coming, would he have said this? No of course not. I won't look much more into this, but at the same time it's hard to not think of the Palmer situation because this is still the same FAMILY with their model-model of 14 years ago.

It for sure makes you wonder??

We've seen a lot of changes for the good lately. I mean prior to 2020 or so this team was a very minor player in free agency, to say the least. Oh they'd get a semi' big name occasionally but by and large it was washed up used to be, coming off major injury types that were a roll of the dice on the cheap.

We got OBJ, Reader, Bell, Awuzie, Cappa, Karras, Hendrickson etc. Which was a big change from the previous crap. But it sure seems they're slowly slipping right back into the model=model.

Here's to hoping they'll listen to JB and change back.

I remember as a kid back when jarts had metal tips, someone would have a mis-throw and it goes way up high in the air, and everyone just runs to avoid dying. Lol those were the days, I miss em.

How exactly did Burrow put the team on notice? Sounded like typical game loss player speak to me. He has to be careful what he says and won't really say what is on his mind. He is smart enough not to burn bridges down just yet. He, Chase and Higgins should be planning their escape route out of Cincy if they ever want to see a SB again.

I agree mostly. But there are many issues now and upcoming on offense IMHO. IOL, WR#2, another RB besides Moss, where are we at TE#1, is Mims the answer at RT? And so on

Thanks to how dangerous those things were, some folks are missing more than just the old days!

I think Volson is Pollock's claim to fame that he can coach someone up. So, I think Pollock is the reason Volson has not been replaced before now. Maybe this is a sign Pollock is on his way out.
