Joe Burrow puts team on notice
#1
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/joe-burrow-just-put-the-bengals-on-notice-after-latest-loss/ar-AA1v7aIL?ocid=BingNewsSerp

Reading this kinda got me wondering. How much influence will Joe have on next seasons roster? Coaching changes? Who the OC is? Even players on defense? Just on and on. It's something for him to state in public we'll see who needs to stay and who doesn't.

This team obviously needs a reboot on defense but the offense needs much change as well IMHO. Yes I know near the top on offensive stats. But I still believe it's a bit of a mirage because Joe Burrow and Chase are the ultimate mascara.

In other words we can be way more efficient with some changes.

After putting Ford at LG, I think the coaches realize the IOL needs work. It's all they could do at this point, but it shows they recognize a glaring issue.

People will compare it to the Carson Palmer situation but Joe has more influence than Palmer.

He's a better player, took the organization to the Super Bowl, and currently IS the Cincinnati Bengals. He is the brand. Palmer was never connected to the organization, fan base, city, etc. the way Burrow is.

That being said, I think the organization will do whats required to make him happy. Do I think it'll be Joe going into the FO and saying "we need to fire the DC, cut Hubbard, etc."? No. I think the writing is on the wall with what he's been putting out there in the media and that'll be enough. I think a lot of changes are coming.

Ha ha, you're not wrong there. They should've given up much earlier.

I'm not on thr Zac Taylor fire bandwagon but damn what the hell is with Sample as the RB on 3rd and 4th and 1. Last week they did something similar in short yardage. The Offensive Staff does not trust this team run blocking at all.

Yes, Joe is a class act and leaps and bounds above Palmer. He's not going to demand this guy be fired, can this, change that and so on. But I do believe they'll listen when he talks about whatever.

He can see the defense blows and I wouldn't put it past him saying so behind closed doors.

Right

Not on the fire ZT wagon either. But this team needs to start over on the drawing board with A LOT of issues.

Thank goodness he said something like this. Someone has to ffs, this is just tragic what is happening. Burrow is having a legit MVP caliber of a season, and this defense is equally but completely opposite of that by having a historically terrible season, possibly worst defense in Bengals history which is saying something. (IMO I think it is the all-time worst Bengals defense).

This is intriguing for him to say that though. Is there silence going on behind the scenes between front office and the team, leaving him feeling like he has to say something? I mean if there has been a concerned effort by THE FAMILY letting everyone know changes are coming, would he have said this? No of course not. I won't look much more into this, but at the same time it's hard to not think of the Palmer situation because this is still the same FAMILY with their model-model of 14 years ago.

I'd like to know who on his management team saw that ad and told him:  "We think this is a good image for you, and 15 years from now absolutely no one will still be laughing at it."

I am upset the ping pong table did not work. I was putting all my eggs in that basket. I guess we can try Fooseball next? Zac will figure out what game next to football we need to be a good football team.

Maybe the ping pong tables could replaced with a few sets of lawn Jarts and  see if things don't figures themselves out...

We're long past foosball, I think.  It's time to bring in the big guns:

Admitting that there's a problem is the first step toward a solution.  Cool

you all can go back and forth about who may or may not have the creds to initiate the many changes that need to take place from top to bottom..But until Mike Brown has been neutralized, is gently pushed out of the building by his family or decides to retire..changes will be minimal and excuses will be made..I don't think this is about spending money or not..the brown family is pretty frugal the money is there..it all about Mikes stubborness and his unwillingness to change...I like Zac Taylor, he's a good guy...but whether it be Zac or same of the other coaches we need some new voices in the locker room..some gravitas..We need a GM and at least 6-8 more scouts to better evaluate talent...What I saw yesterday, defensively was just miserable and embarrasing
