Time to root for losses
#21
For the record, I never said the bengals would purposely lose. And I said I don’t expect them to purposefully lose. All I’m saying, as fans, we should root for losses, not wins. Wins make us as fans feel better. It does nothing for the team. As evidence from us “showing promise” last year with meaningless wins. And for that reason, I would put my short term feeling good about a couple wins in December to the side, in favor of better draft positions for all 7 rounds.

But why would that be bad thing? Besides us fans wanting to see a win. Couldn’t we take the short term losses and suffering to better help the future? This franchisee really only tries to improve though the draft. We need to capitalize there. Which is a whole other discussion.

Honestly, I don't like seeing my teams lose. And when it comes to the Bengals, I saw enough of that over the decades in the Mike Brown era.

We don’t have to root for losses, they are coming whether we want them or not. 1 win maybe the rest of the season.

The Bungles are going to lose and lose violently whether you “want” it to happen or not.

And losses help more than wins in this gilded portion of the year.

But our masthead will likely blow our picks on some magic beans.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

I'm with you on cutting the above. Rankins signing has been rank AF. Dude hasnt been worth his contract.

Let Tee walk and trade Hendrickson.  Get what you can for him and use it to rebuilding the defense.

Fire the entire defensive staff and rebuild that side of the ball.

That's where I'd start day one at the end of the regular season.

As Joe B said there needs to be changes, major changes to the way this team operates.

Joe B said this?  Can you please point me to the quote?  Not being snarky, legit did not here about him saying those words.

Yep, and I think Joe would absolutely be furious. I can't root for losses, but I won't be pissed about them either.

The next time I root for a Bengal loss will be the first time I root for a Bengals loss.

The only time I rooted for a loss AND most of the Bengals fans was the last game of the year between the Bengals and Dolphins.

Tank Bowl 2019 Bengals at Dolphins.

The result of the loss was first-draft pick Joe Burrow.

The Bengals were down 35-12 in that Bengals/Dolphins game, and stormed back to score 23 points in the final 6 minutes to tie the game at 35 (with two, 2-point conversions). I'm sure most fans were "what in the world are you doing?" but in the end it felt good that they didn't tank, but tried their best and yet still ended up with the 1st pick in the draft.

Lol, that was Andy Dalton trying to say FU to the Bengals organization.

Pollack as well. I don't root for losses except when it comes to teams I hate like the one we lost to yesterday.

Rooting for the Bills and Lions to make it to the Super Bowl. This is what I am rooting for. If we have better Draft position in
the mean time that is gravy after a lost season.

Right with you on all points. We need a total cleanout of the Defensive coaching rooms. at the end of the season. There's got to be someone better than Pollack to be run game coordinator and line coach. I will also probably be pulling for Josh Allen and the Bills to win, but most definitely ANYONE besides the chefs.

Losses are helpful for getting Lou outta here. If they scrape out some meaningless wins, the complacent FO will be happy with the scrappy finish, and discard the abysmal play that led us to 4-8. Lou can take Zac with him as far as I'm concerned. It'd be nice to not have the 4th best coach in the division. I won't root for losses but I'm pretty indifferent. This feels a lot like the ends of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons. Joe, Ja'Marr, and those of you that kept paying for those tickets after prices increased after 2021 deserve better.

2019 Week 16, we were 1-13 and it we are down 12-35 in the 4th quarter before we start mounting a comeback to take it into OT... you weren't rooting just a little that we lost to maintain that 1st overall pick for Joe Burrow?

Yeah, I don't just want to change the DC, I want ALL of the defensive staff gone.

Yes, Bills are the one team that can beat those bastids who I have come to hate almost as much as the stealers.

The Rats will choke just watch. I don't want to see the stealers in there either and I still have a bad taste in my mouth from losing to
JJ Twatt back in the day, but I guess the Texans would be much better than the dreaded 3.

For sure, I liked Bettcher but the LB play has been putrid, same with Hobby and the DL. They all need to go.
