We have too many holes

DT DE CB1 SS FS LG RG C WR2. We need 9 starters that's quite a bit to fix in 1 off season.

Karras is good for one more year and we've been alright without Tee most of the season and putting up points. 2 guards, and everything else needs to be defense

Right on! And not any young guys capable of stepping in and improving that are obvious atleast.

We probably need 2 DT's.

And I agree that C is passable with Karras another year.

We're kind of iffy at LB too on defense. Basically, aside from Trey, the entire defense sucks.

At DC at minimum to this list and probably some position coaches on Defense, but it's time to get an elite O-Line coach.

Add TE and LB. I’d be down to re-sign Gesicki to another 1 year deal but we need a complete TE, and who knows what will happen with All. Dude has multiple ACL tears at this point.

Our LBers are awful, too. Especially Pratt. He should be a prime cut candidate.

Cause that should be easy. Ninja

There’s a reason guys like Scarnecchia and Callahan were always so coveted.

I disagree about needing TWO new starting safeties.
Roll with Battle at SS.
Get a new FS. There are some decent ones in FA plus some good ones who should be available in Rds 1-2 in the draft.
Cut Stone to free up $6.5 mill.

If anything, they may need two starting DTs.
Rankins is worthless and needs cut, freeing up $10.5 mill.
Hill is set to hit FA.
Are Jenkins and/or Jackson good enough yet to cover starting duties? I haven't seen enough to give me confidence. Both are worthy of keeping in the rotation though as they continue to develop.

If I'm strapped for cash/draft picks, I'm drafting one IOL and trying to get creative with Karras and Matt Lee.
Matt Lee got 3 snaps at LT yesterday. I'd try him at either LG or move Karras to LG and put Lee at C.
Ford *may* end up showing enough at LG to warrant keeping him, but I'm not holding my breath.

This doesn't look like a good WR draft class, but there should be some cheaper WR2 type guys the Bengals can pick up in FA.
Someone who will cost under $10 mill APY and still put up 700-800 yards.
There are a few TEs I really like in the upcoming draft class, so I'd be game to make the TE1 the 2nd option in the offense and push WR2 down in the pecking order.

I have a feeling the coaches and FO like what they saw enough in Hill and Turner before their injuries to invest too much $$/draft capital into a new starting CB, but I could see them getting a cheaper vet FA as insurance.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Yes. LB is the hidden need. Our guys look slow and miss tackles...and don't cover well.

Replace coaching before you replace the parts.

They need a plan before changing out and hunting down players.

Oh no doubt. But, we keep sticking with mediocre coaches.

Guys like Jonah were good at Tackle as a rookie. Then regressed through their careers.

Now Mims looks good as a rookie. What will happen?

Lou should have been fired over the Bye.

He should've been fired in January of 2020.

Absolutely, need FO and coaches in place first. We can’t count on these clowns to correct our deficiencies, they have no clue what they are doing

NFL could give us everyone’s 1st round picks and we would screw that up.

Actually need 2 DTs with Jenkins, Jackson, and Rankins signed.
Agree with DE although we could use 2 or even 3 with some cuts.
Mims has been invaluable with 3 OTs being injured at times, but I really wanted a CB1 with everyone else getting pushed down a spot and an aging Hilton.
I have no faith the Bengals' ability to coach safety so I don't even know.
I don't know why we haven't seen Lee inside.  I'd like to see a swing tackle drafted who plays inside as a rookie.
Can't we just resign Gesicki as the WR3 already and train a WR2 from the Iosivas, Jones, Burton pool?

My list by priority: DE, CB1, OT/OG, FS, DT, WR

Agree

Yet remember not agreeing with him being made a Captain on team only to get ripped to shreds for suggesting it was an error. He showed his non leadership character qualities when going off on Ossai after his blunder imho.

To me it makes no difference the size of Ossai's mental blunder. Still being an A-Hole in front of the entire team, coaches, camera's, and the world does not make one a leader. Felt it went against Zac's supposed culture change as well.

Just my opinion though

Putting some new voices/perspectives in the war room could only help.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

And even more

Right

And I'd add RB#2 The depth pretty much everywhere of this team needs help as well. We need a lot of new blood. IMHO they're going to have to be very active in free agency because it's waayyyy past being able to fix with just the draft.

Getting a pass rush that can pressure the QB more often than not would go a long way in masking weaknesses in other areas.

It doesn't fix everything, but it's the area the can yield the biggest improvement for the unit as a whole in one year.

Agree

And having blocker eating interior Dline makes the LBers so much better.

I'm all for having a new O-line coach but I'm more concerned about this scouting department being unbale to draft O-line. Outside of Williams who regressed and Mims in 12 games we've been awful at drafting OL. Ogbuehi, Fisher, Price, Carmen Jackson, D'ante Smith and Volson has regressed and just got benched in year 3 ! Plus when guys like Ogbuenhi, Price and Jackson left they were all awful on there new teams so it wasn't just the scheme. We blamed Paul Alexander and the ketchup bottle then it was Jim Tuner and now Pollock is the problem the one consistent variable is Duke Tobin.
