Tee hires Ja'Marr's agent

They are abusing the void years HARD to try to win now. They already have $228m in cap allocations for 2027 with only 14 players actually on the roster (8 of those 14 being their 2024 rookies) and $189m for 2028 with only 6 players on the roster.

They will have a massive reckoning.

I'd say it's worth it if they get a super bowl ring. It feels like everyone said the same thing about the Rams in 21... Two years later and they're back to contending for the playoffs. Granted both teams are much better run than us.

Previously, ownership could tell Tee’s agent they need to wait to see where Chase comes in at, because woe is me, we don’t have enough cash. Now the agent will know exactly how the 2 deals are looking to be structured and he can find a way to make it work for both. It’s good for bengals because now they don’t have to compete against two agents, they just need to come to terms with one agent.

This is 100% intentional and I think a sign of good faith from Tee. He wants to stay. If tee and Chase were able to take some type of discount for team friendly deal I’m all in favor of keeping him. If not, then I sadly say we need to move on and use those resources (draft and cap) on the defense. But if we get a package deal, I’m all for it.

Nice post Ell Prez. Makes a lot of sense, I like it. Cool

Seriously though, I hope that someone takes the three of them (9,5,1) and says "take a look at the defense, unless you want to keep missing the playoffs, save a little cash for them".

Does the agent also represent any decent defensive players that will be free agents next year?  Maybe they could do like almost everything else these days offer a bundle with an optional upgrade to Defense+ package.  :)

Yeah, they should get Trey and BJ to sign with the same guy, allow him to write the precedential 5 player, 2 platoon mega deal of it's kind. How's that for a discount double check, Aaron Rodgers?

I don’t see this as either good or bad news for the Bengals. Doesn’t really change anything. Bengals will still want to keep guaranteed money minimized while Tee will want to maximize same. Maybe they can come to an agreement on a highly incentivized contract but doubtful. Agent is gonna do what agents do, it all comes down to what the client wants given market conditions at the time. The current consensus seems to be that Tee will be the number one WR free agent if not the top overall.

If he stays healthy and puts up decent numbers the rest of the year, there should be multiple teams willing to make offers the Bengals will be hard pressed to match. No matter how much Tee says he wants to stay, Money talks bullshit walks. I fully expect Tee to be elsewhere next year.

He hasn't been a full participant all this week. Whether he plays this Sunday IDK.

Tee has been limited in practice since returning from the hamstring injury.  Zac said they were going to manage his practice time differently for the rest of the season.  He is playing on Sunday

In other words, he'll just be a decoy again.

He's always talked about having a contract that gives the Bengals the ability to do this. Our guy is out here playing chess.

That would be nice if he said I'm restructuring to only keep these players, because right now, there are probably just 3 people to keep (ja'marr, tee, Trey).

That is how you power play, and also get rid of coaches you don't like (Lou). Do it, or "I'm gone".

If that doesn't scream, I'm fragile! Not sure if teams will look at that and see he can't practice full go without hurting the hamstring. Hell, he hurt it the last time during a walkthru.

Yeah, being capable of taking over a ball game and being able to take over a ball game are two entirely different scenarios.

What are you concerned about Higgins money? We just want him to play football and help the team win games.

why are you so bothered about me stating that I think Tee messed up? I like the guy, but he screwed up when he fired Mullegheta

and I dont want him on the bengals, personally.

defelcting? money should be spent elsewhere. No need for an often injured expensive player on the offensive side of the ball

I wouldn't say this is a layup at all, but it goes from a 5% chance to a 50% chance absolutely.
