Put up 25 the next week against KC and 33 the following week against Washington. Was Joe not trusting the wrist in that first game? I don't really remember what the major malfunction was, the defense held them to 16.
Good points but the Pats were the first game. We lost 7 more. I know the defense had issues. But the slow starts are huge issue. Cost us the playoffs 2 years in a row. Zac can’t count on the rally at the end mantra. Injuries can derail that. The games early need more focus and attention.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I don’t really give 2 ______ whether it’s injuries or what. Zac’s record in September is pathetic. And it’s plenty body of work. If we would have snuck in the playoffs the last 2 years he’d have plenty less scrutiny.

Sure but it’s in that framework and related. Joe was healthy enough to win

Bengals were 6th int he league in points per game (27.8).
The five teams above them made the playoffs.
And the 4 teams below them.
So they were the only team in the top 10 in points per game to miss the playoffs, Lou was justifiably fired.

I'm just saying that while the defense really really struggled at times they still did enough to win or gave the offense to win and we failed.
1: New England we only allowed 16pts so I think we put that on the offense.
2:KC we lost 25-26 with a fumble for a score and still made kc punt up 2 giving the offense a chance to drive and end it.
3:1st Ravens game lost in overtime as we all know and while the defense couldn't stop anything in the 2nd half they got the turnover in OT giving a chance to win.
4: Chargers a game that we really needed to win. The defense forced three punts later in the 2nd half with the game tied.
So the defense was a huge issue but the offense failed in big situations in tight games this season. This was called out at times by people that cover the Bengals during the season.
You can pick plays back and forth that effected games by the offense or defense. The people who cover the Bengals aren’t doing their homework. The Bengals averaged more points in the fourth quarter than any year under Zac. The offense was not the problem this year. Plain and simple. We were 6th in scoring offense and 25th in scoring defense.

The offense was amazing but that doesn't mean there aren't still areas of concern that we need to improve. Two of the worst guards in the NFL according to PFF apparently. The people who covering them are doing they're homework between watching every game and going thru the tape of every game alot more work than game commentators.
One point to make on the offense is that I've noticed in the past when a teams offense is terrible they're defense might show better statistically because teams don't need to score against them. The same can be said about an offense with a bad defense. Not saying that are defense being terrible made our offense appear good but it does help if even marginally statistically. But my original point was when the offense had to score with a chance to win late in games in tight matchups I believe we failed more than we succeeded.
Well the defense failed against NE. They ran the ball easily and killed clock at the end of the game. But 10 points is 10 points. Against Washington they were the cause not the offense. They took a 38-26 lead mid 4th . KC drove and kicked a FG. Our 25 points 3rd most scored all year on them. Ravens Money Mac missed the game winning FG. In our discussions you often make comments but not often examples.
Your quote “ But my original point was when the offense had to score with a chance to win late in games in tight matchups I believe we failed more than we succeeded. ” Which times? I do agree about the guards
