The 2025 Bengals Rosters Thread: Coaches & Players
Updated to include RB Trayveon Williams to the Pats. No details on contract yet

https://gigemgazette.com/former-texas-a-m-football-star-escapes-difficult-roster-for-new-chance-at-nfl-life

Volson had his contract renegotiated. Taking a pay cut, like Stone and Moss. Stone is still the starter and a lock for the 53. But Moss & Volson could still be let go, though I think both probably stay. No details yet, will do a functional cap space update when they are.

https://www.bengals.com/team/transactions/
------------------------

Currently, I am projecting all 6 picks to make the 53 and no UDFA or Future's guys.

And, for the moment at least, I have Pratt on the 53. Until they are released.

II.  Current Projected Roster: Signed/Draft = 53

Italics denotes a player with a zero dead cap hit.

Offense = 25
QB (2): Burrow; Browning
RB (4): C. Brown; Perine, Moss, Brooks
WR (5): Chase, Higgins, Iosivas; C. Jones, Burton
TE (5): D. Sample; Gesicki, HudsonGrandy, McLachlan
OT (4): O. Brown, Mims; Ford (T/G), Rivers (OT/G)
G (3): Patrick (G/C), Fairchild, Volson
C (2): Karras (C/G); Lee (C/T/G)
----------------
Defense = 25
DE (6): Hendrickson, Ossai; Stewart, Murphy, C. Sample (DE/DT), C. Johnson
DT (4): BJ Hill, Slaton; Jenkins; Jackson
LB (5): L. Wilson, Pratt; Knight; Burks, Carter
CB (6): CTB, D. Hill; Turner, Newton, Ivey, M. Wilson
S (4): Battle, Stone; Anderson, Anthony
---------------
Special Teams = 3
PK: McPherson
P: Rehkow
LS: Adomitis
=================

III.  Injured Reserve = 1 (54)
1. Erick All, TE, (knee). Likely season-ending 2nd surgery.
----------

IV.  Projected Practice Squad = 14 (68)
1. QB: Woodside
2. RB: Milton
3. WR: I. Williams
4. OT: Etienne (UDFA)
5. G: Kirkland (G/OT)
6. C: McLaughlin (UDFA)
7. DE: I. Thomas
8. DT: Gregory (UDFA)
9. DT: Cross (UDFA)
10. LB: Giles-Harris
11. LB: Heyward
12. LB: Njongmeta
13. CB: Jalen Davis, 4, $1,030,000, Zero (Fut)
14. Open
15. Open
16. Open
---------------
17. DT: Barnett, I ternational Pathway

I'd expect one of the LBs to move to the 53 once Pratt is released (Heyward). We'd then have 4 open spots. WR (Pryor) & S for sure. Probably another corner as well. Another TE/WR also likely. Or another S. How the 53 shakes out will obviously impact the PS choices. I am assuming some cover at every spot.

V. Signed, Projected Outside PS ATM = 3 (71)

1. OT: Cochran
2. G: Stueber
3. CB: L. Robinson
---------------------

VI. Signed to Future's Contracts, Projected Outside the PS = 11 (82)

These guys do technically take up roster spaces and cap space at the moment. But effectively  they do not, as none of them have any Dead Cap hit if released. These are camp bodies, practice squad types with perhaps a dark horse candidate to make the 53 or two.

But it does give one a better idea if how much space we'd have with a full toster instead of only 44.

We now have 32.6 million in cap space after the Pratt cut.

A bit less in practical space. $2 mil for 53 instead of 51. $3-4 mil for the practice squad. Around $2 mil for Stewart. And Mikey will want a healthy rollover/cushion/$$ to pocket.

More like $25. If we give Trey, say $30, that's +12. Could be less but I have zero hope we do the contract right (Chase & Tee were not).

That leaves around $13 mil. Maybe 1 more significant vet, and then we are the cushion/rollover. Unless we free more space (Volson/Moss).

Adios to playoff P. Thanks for the years Germaine, but time to move on for both parties.

I bump Heyward to the 53 over Ngongmeta on my guesswork 53.

I see no way we cut Volson or Moss now after restructuring them.

I also don't see us giving Trey an additional 12 million in 2025. I see 10 million max and maybe as low as 8 million for Trey.

Bengals have money if they choose to spend it versus rolling it over.

Also please stop speading propaganda. A roll over is not pocketed, it is rolled over and spent the following year. If Bengals never spent the rollover money, your statemet would be true, but they do spend it.

FWIW, with that above 53 on the roster (Stewart & Knight signed), $3 mil for the PS, and All on IR, I have our cap room at $23.25 mil.

You are the propagandist not me. Should I start calling you Duke or Katie?

#1) If it continually rolled over, it is never spent.
#2) Even if it is spent, Mikey still keeps that $$ for a year and earns interest on it (or can invest it). It is money NOT spent. Hence it is retained and pocketed. And even if only temporarily, it can still earn interest be used to yield more $$ in the interim.

Those are facts, not propaganda. And more accurate than your cap numbers you keep posting.

See the difference?
