We don’t value guards.

Otherwise we could have kept Zeitler.

This front office is so full of sh!t, it’s downright embarrassing.

Considering it cost us a SB they should probably start.

I’ve also never seen a guy struggle with stunts as much as he does. So ready for that failed experiment to be over.

A little surprised by Iosivas; think he needs to work on his breaks.
Expect a jump for Jenkins and Jackson, unless they don't get help next season.  Not seeing enough flashes yet.
Similar for Mims who seems headed for quality starter level.
We already knew about our guards; Volson barely outscored Mims because of his run blocking.
I think the safeties got thrown to the wolves, getting stuck behind an incoherent defense.  But they are still unathletic.

Volson and Cappa combined were still only 3 or 4 points better than Mims. Pathetic…

Zeitler is a FA this season I believe.

The overall grade on Mims may seem disappointing, but keep in mind the kid hardly played in college.

And this is why PFF can't be taken seriously in 2024 (since 2015, really).

Again, their stats and numbers are great, the grades are bullshit, 50% of the time.

This one will be tough, so think long and hard before answering. Anyone can play by the way.

Here are your choices.

Kate Beckinsale
Cordell Volson

The Browns made Zeitler the highest paid guard in the league and then traded him 2 years later in part because they overpaid him

In 2017 the excuse was that he cost too much.

In 2025 the excuse will be that he's too old..

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

He is making about 6 million this year.  I would take him if we could get him for that.  I doubt the Lions let him leave.  That offense is very good and Zeitler is part of the reason why.  They will re-sign him.  Even if the Bengals could get him, I think you are right, the front office would think he is too old and wouldnt do it regardless.

They didn't value him in 2021 either. The Giants released him and he was quickly linked back to us. He wound up signing a 3 year/$22.5 million deal with the Ravens. The beat guys ran into Zeitler's wife during the first Baltimore game in 21. She said they wanted to return to Cincinnati, but the Bengals offer was nowhere near what Baltimore gave him. Another reporter ran into his parents a year later and they said the same thing.

That is sad on the Bengals part. They had a great opportunity to bring back a truly good player, one that they drafted, and even perhaps mend some fences. And yet they cheapoed their way out of it.

The real irony here is that they signed Cappa for more, and got much less.

So none of the backup/rotational WRs made the list of worst 5? Trenton Irwin, Jermaine Boulton, or Chuck Sizzle?

Probably not enough snaps.

So... I'll beat the Dead Horse again we have to beg, borrow, or steal two starting guards for next season. They're crazy if they don't! They're going to piss away JB's best years if they don't wise up.

I really think this should be a sign one/draft one situation. If they don’t draft a guy like Booker in the first then get one within the next two rounds. Should be able to get a really good G in the 2nd round but they need to realize it is a major need. Also, sign a solid FA guard - no need to break the bank but even an average NFL starting guard would be a major upgrade for them.
