Actually, it's clotheslined. Like you would do if you were running and ran into one.

Alright, I have gave up on Burton and I was probably the one holding out hope the most on here. He needs help though.

Give him help before cutting him, don't want to see him killing himself of someone else.

He always gives me Jovan Belcher vibes. Just hope Joe and Ja'Marr stay away from him...

Of course on ESPN, the only thing on their main page is headlined "Bengals' Burton allegedly choked, hit woman" which then links to the below article.

The article does say "According to the police incident report, obtained by ESPN through an open records request, the woman declined to file charges" midway through it though.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43349327/bengals-jermaine-burton-allegedly-involved-domestic-dispute
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Clothes-lined. Imagine running at night through a backyard with an old school clothes line. Wink

The guy is a bust. If he hasnt been able to learn the playbook by now, he is not going to. You also have the claims by the girlfriend which may or may not be true but I tend to believe are probably true. He obviously has issues and I doubt very seriously he ever gets his life taken care of and fixes his issues. Its just another example of bad scouting from the smallest scouting department in the NFL and drafting a player they should never have taken. There is a very good reason he was still available when the Bengals took him. Other teams scouting departments, did their scouting. The Bengals did not.

Didn't want the guy in the first place as he had too many red flags.

Hope he gets his life turned around though.

Apparently there was good reason he fell to the 3rd round.

Hope he figures out being rich before its too late for him, but think its too late on this team now anyway.

Yet who knows MB seems to gravitate to these types of problem childs.

That's sad for him as there's also a rumor that he's going to soon be unemployed..

Third round seems pretty high in hindsight.

Do they have to wait until the next season officially begins to cut him or are they actually considering keeping him because that's the Bengals thing to do? I was excited at how excited Zac was to draft Burton and I wanted to see him on the field more, but he's not demonstrating the professionalism necessary to succeed. It's best to move on.

Cut him as soon as it is cap friendly this offseason. Shouldn't even be a question if the team and front office are serious about winning.

According to Over the Cap if he is cut before June 1st it will be $790 thousand dead cap.  After June 1st $263 thousand dead cap.

Damn he barely had long enough time from his last eviction to miss a rent payment at his new place.  I wonder if there is something else that occurred that resulted in the eviction?

Edit I just saw this from Cincinnati.com

Quote:The complaint does not list any overdue rent or mention monetary damages sought by the landlord. Court records state the grounds for Burton's eviction were "lease violations."
