YOU are the interviewer

Then tell him to review the film.

1. Identify 10 bad defensive play calls and explain why. Was it scheme or poor player execution?

2.Identify the poor tacklers. What techniques would you teach them to improve?

3. Would you run more 4-3 base or 3-4 with our personnel. Who were the weakest links on the 2024 team? Why? How would you take our current roster and use them in a 3-4 defense? Who would you replace and why.

4. What would be your goal in year 1 for allowing average running YPG? Passing YPG?

5. What defensive scheme fits best in the AFCN?

6. If the FO and ZT gave you the opportunity to choose 1 defensive player available to start your reign, who would it be and why?

I am no expert, but I would want to see how the DC candidate prepped for the interview based on my requests.

Excellent questions

I would add…
1. What do you look for in a coaching staff? What do you see as the
roles and responsibilities of the position coaches? How do you hold them accountable for the performance of their groups.

2). Do you believe in scheming to your personnel or forcing your personnel into your scheme

3). This team is notorious for slow starts…how would you change that?

All hopes turn to next year

Or they should be 2nd and 3rd stringers rather than starting

That's exactly what should be asked.
