I understand this is a draft thread, but can we count on any of these guys that have been mentioned at DT being a plug and play and replacing Hill (not signed) and or Rankins if we cut him? Or do you see them as potential starters in 2 to 3 years?

There's always rookie inconsistency but this is a great defensive tackle class. CJ West is an excellent example I said he's a late day 2 guy in this class but I wouldn't bat an eye about him starting week one.

Are you saying if we don't resign Hill, West can replace him and be better or at a minimum as good.

If that is the case, we would be crazy to pay Hill 12 or 13 million a year when we can play a rookie drafted in round 3 less than 2 million a year. Are you also saying West is better than McKinley and Jenkins?

I have concerns because we need to get much better on the DL and I am not confident a rookie drafted in round 3 will be an upgrade on our DL. Our DL was horrible in 2024. We need it to become a strength versus a weakness.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I would say there's a decent chance. I'm on the CJ West train now. High floor players like West usually have smoother transitions.

Edit: The DTs with first round grades might have rough edges year one week one but you can see where they can offset that with impact splash plays too.

I'll post a YouTube Video of the 1 on 1s as they become available but Joe Goodberry clipped the first National Practice already on Twitter.

Indeed. It is a grear DT class. I could see us doubling up again + signing a mid-tier FA to join Jackson & Jenkins.

There is not a guy worth $15-$20 mil in FA at DT IMHO. Some guys who are solid BJ Hill types. Some guys who are good situational pass rushers but poor vs the run. Not a real frontline stud.

Same story at DE, beyond Mack (who likely stays in LA) and maybe Sweat (who likely stays in Philly).

Good to see Tobin watching DT drills. I would hope both Golden and Montgomery are also there and evaluating. Same for OL coach Peters there and evaluating OL.

Sacramento State OL Jackson Slater is having a week. He is handling these good interior rushers like Walter Nolen and TJ Sanders.

I wonder if he's any relation to the legendary Jackie Slater?

He's playing alot of guard at rhe Senior Bowl and it doesn't look good. Iowa's Yahya Black beat him with a decent speed move to his outside shoulder and he's struggling with leverage.
