Scott Peters OL coach
(01-23-2025, 09:38 AM)Sled21 Wrote: That's not a good attitude. If Peters can fix Volson's problems and make him a good guard, that's money we don't need to spend. It's not like Volson sucks on every play, he has had some really good games. He's just not consistent. If he can fix him fine, if he can't, then show him the door and get someone else. Peters ought to know by camp.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with players like Ford, who while not starters, are good backups and how much better he can make them. Zeus said he thought "some of the guys" could really benefit from Peter's techniques, and while I don't know I think he was referencing Ford and Cochran
;

they needed a "change of voice' on the offensive line..same with Lou....hopefully new coaches will be heard and we will see improvements

of the bad you speak about had much to do with him. He is a consultant and was maybe our best OL coach ever, no need to tear him up.

Duke Tobin pretty sure is the reason for a lot of this more so than Jim McNally. Pollack couldn't coach up anyone as we all saw.

If we want to just be negative about Scott Peters, fine, but I don't know why. He is young and even according to Pats fans wasn't the
problem with their OL. They had about the least talented OL in the NFL. Who knows what he can do with good Tackles, an okay Center
and some new Guards. It was time for a change.

In what f!cking way did I act like he was a dumbass? I said when he coached with what players & has'nt been in the NFL doing it in how long. Gotta leave you neg feedback for that.

Unless you are going back into time on the old board, I don't think this board gives the ability to negative rep anyone. Sorry.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Not cutting down McNally at all & what he did in the 80s with great talent & Paul Brown still running things.

You may not have inferred that he was a "dumbass", but you certainly did discount his opinion based upon his age, and demean his body of work by only crediting him only with coaching Anthony Munoz when the Bengal OLs of that era were truly legendary.

Get over yourself, already..

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

That is some good stuff Sooner. You were surprised Hobby got fired? I wanted to upgrade both the trench coaches as they weren't getting
the job done. I think Peters can be an upgrade over Pollack and Montgomery can be an upgrade over Hobby. Not far fetched both are.

You said he is old and his claim to fame was Munoz pretty much alluding he was carried as the OL coach.

All you have is neg feedback, no surprise.

I get that
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Trust me.....you wouldn't be pleased with a negative feedback option on these forums.....

Dude is young, and supposedly has a very “modern approach.” I don’t see anything Mike Brown-esque about it.

Ok, and “piano man” (seriously - this is one of the corniest things our fanbase ever latched onto) was a damn good OL coach for many years.

that right? this is what i could come up with.

Paul Alexander (born February 12, 1960) is an American football coach. He was the offensive line coach of the Cincinnati Bengals from 1994 to 2017. He also served as an assistant coach for the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys. In March 2019 he decided to join the Potsdam Royals as an offensive line consultant. Since March 2023 he is the headcoach of the Dresden Monarchs.

Not sure what copying and pasting his Wikipedia bio is supposed to prove, but yes, Alexander was known as one of the better OL coaches in the league at one point. Just because the game passed him by towards the end doesn’t mean he was never good.
