The defense probably won't get all the resources it could by retaining Tee. But if we can improve the guard position while keeping Tee any improvement to the defense will make a huge difference.
You fix the OL and the DL and you can get another good WR and draft one and the team will be better in the long run.

I absolutely can argue against the "significant" and "just like Tee" part. It's a red flag no doubt, but the guy has missed just 1 game in the last 6 years of football (NFL+college) and that's on top of nearly playing a whole extra season worth of postseason games already. If a guy has played 103 of his last 104 games, he is not just like Tee.
Secondly, if we can sign all of those defensive guys along with re-signing Tee, then I would rather sign all of those defensive guys AND both of those OL.

Well, they should. We might have won that Super Bowl with a Joe Thuney in there.

Neither is Tee if we’re picking nits. Elite to me is unquestionably top 5 (Chase, Jettas, etc).

Tee is not an elite WR I agree he's a step below in that upper tier.

Blood clots can legit kill you not sure how you can argue that it isn't a legit red flag for a player to have.

He's paid like one. He signed a 3 year 75 million dollar extension this off-season.

Don't give a damn about what he's getting paid he's NOT an elite WR and probably never will be. And Philly is in the SB because of Barkley the OL and their D not their WR's.

Trey Smith averages 17 games per season. What are we doing here?

He fell in the draft because of having blood clots and fell off a lot teams because of it.

I mean, they made it to a Super Bowl a couple years ago before Barkley even got there. Trading for AJ Brown was a big catalyst for that run.
But tbf they always have one of the best rosters top to bottom.

Ok, and it hasn’t seemed to affect him one iota in the NFL.

They're gonna have a tough time resigning all of their guys this offseason.

What if it comes up again? It could be a career threatening issue ? I'm not saying I wouldn't sign him but it is worth mentioning.

No he's not. He has never been a top-10 paid WR. He made 71.4% the amount of the highest paid WR. If he were a QB that would put him between Daniel Jones and Derek Carr when Burrow got his extension, and while Daniel Jones and Derek Carr were overpaid, nobody would claim they were being paid like elite QBs.

Your so right he's only the 11th highest paid Wr per year according to Over the cap.

Are folks somehow trying to say that AJ Brown and DeVontae Smith don't make the Eagles better?

If your extension's average salary STARTs at being ~70% of the highest paid player's salary, you're not being paid as if you're elite. If you get paid 3/4ths of what a different player at the same position on YOUR OWN team got paid, you're not being paid as elite.
You can say 11th in 2024, but he was closer to being paid 15th than he was to being paid 10th. He was also 20th among WRs in guaranteed money at signing. By Week 1 of the season, he's going to be out of the top-15 and making ~65% of the highest paid player at his position.
That's not being paid as elite.

So? You are arguing over semantics! The Eagles have two player being paid at the top 15 players at the same position.
