Hendrickson for TE Mayer and a 3rd
The Bengals are willing to make a deal, and the Raiders got jokes?

I would like a G or DT. Awful tough to get immediate production from draft picks, due to adjustment to physicality of NFL for the positions.
Makes sense. We are in a good place because there is no one in FA with Trey's credentials, and Teams who are in "win now" mode don't have top-15 picks to get Carter or Pearce.
Completely agree in all aspects. If we trade Trey it would have to help immediately and a draft pick alone just doesn't do that often.
If we can get a Guard that is proven, that would be ideal, but I would just sign Jonathan Allen a DT off the street as soon as we can.

It would if we made the trade that I proposed earlier, to the Colts for Quenton Nelson. Straight up deal, no picks involved.
What was Allen's injury that caused him to only play 8 games last year?

Chest Pectoral Tear
Allen tore his left pectoral in Week 6's loss to the Ravens

Ok, so he was able to come back and play a couple of more games. He might be worth looking at for around the same price BJ Hill will be asking.

I saw that and was surprised when others shot it down. I would do that in an instant.
As Goalpost said, torn pec for Allen. Should be 100% now.

Jonathan Allen would for sure be worth it, no older than BJ Hill and if he still has a lot in the tank would be an upgrade. Better pass rusher.

This would be great. But with their C and RG in FA, would they be willing to potentially lose their entire interior OL?
I would be happy to see Nelson and Fries blocking for Burrow.

I haven't studied their cap situation, but wouldn't they already be planning to re-sign Fries and the Center?

2021 I think it was only Parsons
2020 Zero? Chase Young draft.
2019 Nick Bosa maybe Biran Burns?
Edit: Bosa only had 9 his rookie year so that's Zero for 2019 too.
When I listed the previous years, those were those players CAREERS of reaching 10+ sacks. So 2022 was 3 seasons of attempts at reaching 10 from each and still only that few.
Not a single player in 2022 or 2023 reached 10 sacks in their rookie season.
So yeah, there hasn't been a 10-sack rookie since Parsons in 2021.

All year long it seemed to me that the offense was significantly different when he was on the field or not. We all have our opinions on who should have priority to keep.
I'd hate to see Hendrickson go as he might be my favorite Bengal. High character individual and comes to play day in and day out. Lot of respect for him and it will be a big loss.
That said, I'm holding judgement until this all plays out.
You have that feeling because Tee missed the first 2 weeks of the season where the offense has been horrible regardless of him being there or not the previous 4 years WITH him.
When he missed that 3 game stretch the Bengals averaged almost 31 points per game without him.
(03-07-2025, 10:26 AM)ochocincos Wrote: Isn't Hendrickson eligible to be tagged after this season?
If so, the Bengals could just say, "Hey, we plan on tagging you next year, possibly the year after depending on how well you do."
That would essentially give Hendrickson a 1-year or 2-year extension with all of it guaranteed.
It would also erase any chance he ever has of getting a final large payday in his career because he would be heading into FA going into his age 33 season.
He'd lose a huge amount of money taking that deal. Heck, he already lost money taking that previous 1-year extension.
Plus "plans" on tagging is not actual guarantees. They can just not tag him at any time if he breaks both his legs and he gets nothing.

Looks like the Colts have about 40 million in cap space.

Sounds like he didn't return after this injury. It shows him missing 13 games, which seems to include the playoff games they were in.
But...his current injury situation for next year is described as... very low risk. He's definitely healed.

Spotrac has BJ Hill's market value at 2 yrs and 18 million. That's not terrible.

Allen did come back and play at the end of the year after they thought he was out for the year.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I am not sure who they were referencing, but Colts said they wanted a major overhaul.

Maybe they would entertain moving Nelson then?
