Get Tee done. Get Chase done. Reduce those cap hits. Restructure Burrow. Cut Moss. Free more space.
This should be the plan, but a competent FO (seriously) would see this coming rather than going oh there are some solid B-C grade guards remaining let's give Tee and Chase their money.
They've been playing the long game, and though the bemefit is important we said the same thing last year that Tee's cap hit reduction would have helped us. All of those moves needed to happen and still can happen, but if they were close they would have signed them to act on the exact scenario you're spelling out.

Rumor is that Tee, Chase, and Trey want top of the market deals.

Damn, that's like perfect Mike Brown cost too.
OL coach must not have thought he was a fit?
Only thing I can think of.
Is this another case of OL coach wanting big burly, clunky guys who don't fit the more athletic offensive scheme?
Yeah, I don't like this much. I like what Scott Peters has done and I like the way he talks but get a damn proven Guard instead
of trying to make something out of nothing. Volson and Ford HAVE shown they are backups at best.

I SAID it is more proven than a rookie. Would you of wanted us to not sign a single EDGE?
I don't think you give a **** about the Bengals. You would rather they suck so you could complain more.
Ossai got messed up mentally after the AFC Championship Mahomes push and he just finally got over it.
Get over yourself.

Seems like half the folks here would prefer this… sadly.

So? Tee's cap hit will cone DOWN if he's signed long term. So will Chase's (see Justin Jefferson).
We'll create more space this year (and likely next) by signing them long term. I was skeptical on Chase, but it checks out. Trey, not so much,,but when added in with the other 2, it is still a net savings.

Can't be true. I remember folks on here relatively recently telling us that Tee doesn't even want to be paid as a WR1 anymore. Sure it might be the same folks who said Burrow/Chase/Tee were all going to take below-market discounts to stick together, but they certainly wouldn't be spreading untruths.

There goes the safety market. The big mistake is their decision to stick with Stone.
There's no SB coming next year. This FA period did nothing to move the needle.

Signing Ossai definitely isn't a bad move. It's actually pretty decent in the spot they're in. Maybe he was just putting things together last year. Plus, he got really limited snaps as they kept trotting Hubbard out there.
What might turn out to be the bad move is the 1 year part if he has a huge year.

Tee would have been signed long ago if he wanted to be paid as a #2 I'm fairly sure.
And Chase likely wants $40 million a year. While Chase is an amazing receiver, and they kind of have to do it...Chase likely isn't going to improve on his stats much from last year. So you'll basically be paying him double for similar or slightly worse stats.
I think the rub with the Bengals is when you have an elite QB, do you need 2 elite WR's? Teams like the Saints with Brees and Colts with Manning only had 1 and then a strong running game.

Yeah, Jevon Holland (top remaining free agent) to Giants for 3 years 45 million (30M guaranteed) and Ifeatu Melifonwu to Dolphins. both

My favorite safety is Reid from KC. The problem is his is more of in the box safety, but I think he is much better than Battle.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

The Colts were kind of a total package offense when they won it all in '06. Harrison had 1300+ yards and 12 TD's, Reggie Wayne had 1300+ yards and 9 YD's, and they had two solid receiving TE's in Dallas Clark and Ben Utecht. Addai was the lead RB that year topping 1000 yards and also caught 40 passes. Having 2 elite WR's allowed them to play a lot of 12 to help the run game. Ironically, they won it all the year after Edgerrin James left.

That and the fact we’ve spent, what is adding up, on replacement level guys. Not one difference maker. On a roster with so many holes, it should be pretty easy to sign clear upgrades, yet we haven’t done that. Not at one position.

The Family has had a long time to be able to sign the three or to make a trade for Hendrickson and/or Higgins. It is starting to be eerily similar to last year when fans waited to the end of preseason to sign Chase and it never happened and waited all off season to sign Higgins and it never happened. Not sure any of us want to experience that waiting game again.

I believe Air Coryell was the greatest offense I ever witnessed. Don Coryell was the architect. His collection of talent included Dan Fouts, Chuck Muncie, Kellen Winslow, Charlie Joiner, Wes Chandler, John Jefferson, and even James Brooks.
