"Inching closer" to getting the JaMarr Chase deal done
#1
Enough already, the suspense is driving me nuts!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bengals-inching-closer-to-ja-marr-chase-contract-extension/ar-AA1AW42l?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=130f1df5bfb5408f98417b4ab1a285b4&ei=34

Quote:The Cincinnati Bengals, notorious for not paying players what they are worth and letting them walk in free agency, seem to be inching closer towards an extension with wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

NFL insider Josina Anderson is reporting Friday morning the Bengals and Chase are working out the finite details of the contract and the numbers have potentially already been agreed to.

The 25-year old stud from LSU is expected to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. He is expected to fetch in excess of $40 million per season.

That is unless the Bengals do something to put a fly in the ointment and put the kabash on the deal.

Never know what the Bengals are going to do until the ink is dry.

"No injury waiver in Chase's deal," Anderson posted on social media.

Once the small details are starting to be worked on it means the big issues, such as annual average value and amount of guaranteed money have already been agreed to. Chase and the Bengals be getting close to an agreement.

Anderson reports the deal will be for four years, worth an estimated $41 million per season.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Tomorrow's headline:  "Micah Parsons sets NFL record for non-QB in both AAV and Guarantees"

And then quibbling over minor details rather than getting a deal done already means they have to yet again start re-negotiating all the numbers in the Chase contract.

The Bengals and the front office need to get something done. The morale and faith in the front office is low.

They don't care unless people stop buying tickets.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Nice to know the folks in the front offices are still alive and kicking. It's been so quiet, I was about to call for a welfare check.

And therein lies the rub.

It's interesting. Could the Bengals really pay $71 million a year for 2 WR's?

For real, I could see it setting back negotiations a month to even come to the table again lol.  Here's to them getting this done.

Where's Wildman Walker when you need him? Send him up a roof until the Bengals solve the situation for The 3.

Nope.  I don't believe it.

Tee plays on the TAG or is traded IMO.  This has been my opinion for the last two years and I still believe it.

I ask you and others. Do you sign a contract to buy a $500,000 house and never read all of the details of. contact?

I don't and also have an attorney review it. Bengals are getting ready to dish out probably a minimum of 125 million guaranteed. Chase is getting ready to get 125 million guaranteed minimum.

Do you think it would be important to doa thorough check on both sides prior to signing.

I get everyone wants it done yesterday, but to me if this is true, they have agreed on the numbers, everyone should be very happy snce Shefter reported yesterday they were not close.

How am I the only one happy about this?!

Yes, I wish we had got it done sooner, but we're getting it done and Chase is going to be a happy man!

Chase and Burrow are the main pieces to a championship here, and then an offensive line is the final piece.

Yes, we need a defense, but those two can outscore anyone with a decent o-line.

I saw a lot of smiles on faces of players who help make up the locker room. Even Trey is praising our FO.

Maybe a message board is not the place to gauge a pro team's morale.  Smirk

Maybe this is why they dropped out of the Jenkins sweepstakes.

I'm talking about the fan base and the perception of the team League wide and of course some players.
