We have to go through Bills and Chiefs.
Also the Ravens. We cn't lose to them 2x a year.

Obviously defense is also very important. It’s not MORE important than offense. That’s always been a myth.
Maybe they were top 10 in offense but they were not 30th in Defense, and that’s the problem.

Still much work to do before we talk SB.
It's hard to say we have improved when it's basically the same roster as last year. What new starters do we have? Slaton taking over Rankins spot? Maybe you count that but Kris Jenkins had more starts than Rankins. Ford and Volson both started games last year on offense. Ossai started a few games at DE last year. Its the same group of guys on a team that went 9-8. I agree, this team still needs a lot more work before we talk Super Bowl caliber.

At least we didn't lose players, but yeah, it is basically the same roster with a new Defensive staff and a new OL coach. I do like the additions
of Slaton which is the type of DT we should of gotten last year instead of a 3-tech in Rankins, Oren Burks shown some great things late last
year for the Eagles. Perine is a damn good pass protector and adds physicality which we desperately needed.
Also we should expect players like Kris Jenkins, McKinnley Jackson, Cedric Johnson to improve from last season now that they got their feet
wet. We need a couple Guards though, this would be where we could improve the team the most.

That’s my point, it’s still basically the same team as last year. 2 high priced receivers, one of which only plays half the games. Still can’t run the ball with the line we have and no real changes on defense. Only way we get better at this point is to win a couple of those one score games and get a couple of referee calls our way.

Since I don’t see major changes on either line, are only hope is the new coaches and get more out of the players we already have.

It is a stretch, but would be great to see Trey there as well.

Yes it's 90% of the same team as last year at 9-8... but let's be honest. Bengals delivered choke job after choke job last season a couple of those games should swing back our way.
Hit the draft picks and lets go... also a new defense coordinator and OL coach can help.

McPherson also was a problem last year choking, hopefully it was because of injury and he bounces back and becomes a dependable Kicker again.

Maybe Burton will realize if he could get even half of what these guys got he would be a very rich man, and decide to quit being a knucklehead.

There's a little more to it than that. First, the defense has to be able to stop the run and force a team into "pass first" mode. The team took a big step in that direction by signing the NT.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Cinci. was 5th in the league last year at 63.93% in Red Zone Scoring Percentage (TD only) if this is what he's talking about. Problem with SAS is because he's such a loudmouth and making 20mm per year, he doesn't believe anybody would ever take the time to look up this stat or any stats he shouts out.
SAS also said when OSU QB Dwayne Haskens was drafted by Washington that they were using him entirely wrong. He said DH was an athletic QB and needed him to run. Anybody that followed OSU and saw him play knew his running ability was next to nothing and that he was 100% a drop-back QB. SAS got called out on that and apologized.
I thought that stat was bogus when I read that. I knew I heard we were in the top 5 at the end of the season...

I believe we lost a couple of games last year because our kicking game couldn't get it right.

True knuckleheads don't just stop being knuckleheads, even when large amounts of money is involved. Sometimes, the knuckleheadedness is just part of their personality.
He seems to be a tried and true, bonafide knucklehead.

I classify Burton more as an immature spoiled athlete.
Hope he grows up fast, he could not have 2 better mentors in Chase and Tee. I would add Yoshi as well, he is an example of small college football program, but making the most of it.

It would be nice if Chase and Tee could reach him. Unfortunately, i don't think his brain is penetrable.

It might be close to the same roster, but when you look at it closer it really isn't. Slaton is taking over for Rankins, but Jenkins and McKinley should both be a lot better in their second year, and they looked pretty good last year for rookies. Dax Hill wasn't playing last year but will be back this year. Cam Sample wasn't playing last year but is back. Oren Burkes I think will be much better for us than ADG. Hubbard, love him, but he was horrible playing hurt last year. Ossai and Murphy should be better at DE. Logan Wilson should be healty. DJ Turner should be healthy. Zach Moss, if he's still around, should be healthy. Adn finally, hopefully McMaybe is back to healthy again. Same team, but there was a lot going on last year people tend to overlook

Let’s not forget that our second best player was a position coach all off season. Burrow also didn’t have fully healthy offseason. And the coach turnover, and they are not done yet…
Oh, they had coin flip games with the class of the AFC in KC and Baltimore.
Last year was very unlucky.
