Racing? Just because they were making them Sound fast, doesn’t mean they were driving fast. I probably went a higher rate of speed yesterday going 84 than they got to.
Was it a little silly? Sure, but in no way was this street racing.

This line of thinking that seemingly everyone spouts is complete hogwash. Yeah, you might sign them cheaper, but as soon as the next big deal is signed the players want to renegotiate their deals. Look at Trey Hendrickson. He was signed for what was a big contract. Then with 2 years left, he wants to re-negotiate because other DE's are making more. And now this year, with one year left, he wants to be traded. The league does not make players honor their contracts. SO you might sign a player like Chase or Higgins cheaper initially, but they are just going to want to renegotiate as soon as someone else is making more than them.

On the guesstimate from our other poster of 78 in a 40, so yeah racing. I’ve gone faster on and off a track, doesn’t make it right lol
I do think even 90 in a 65 is a lot different than 78 in a 40.

Cant say I completely disagree because it certainly does happen but not everyone pulls a Trey Hendrickson on their contract.

I think Trey's agent is a dumbass. He asked for an extension for Trey when he could not be extended and now has Trey test the trade waters
where he won't get any more than what the Bengals offered. Nor would the Bengals trade him for anything another team would offer for him.

I think it's a risk of front loading contacts too. Player gets large percentage of money in 1st few years, then later not as much...

The culture wasn't good last year. Contract issues. There was supposedly stuff going on with the defense. Guys wanting traded. Maybe Zac didn't create any of that. But, the great culture thing is largely a myth.
You, I and others ..including sports writers..know nothing about the tone of the lockeroom ( culture) as you put it..lol@ contract issues ..all teams have contract issues..The team played pretty darn good the last third of the season..I doubt there were many issues in the lockeroom

Trey was quite a bit underpaid, compared to his production. I can't speak for last year but this year he deserved a pretty decent pay raise.
How many other WRs are yelling for new contracts, after recently sigining, because of the JJ and Chase deals of the last 2 years? Any?

Chase already no longer the highest paid non-QB.
Crosby signed a 3yr/$106.5m extension. Can only imagine that there's still at least 1 more record setter coming this offseason with Micah Parsons.
(EDIT: Ignore this. I need a nap.)

I don't understand what you're saying.
Crosby's extension averages 35.5M AAV. Chase's extension averages 40.25M AAV.

Yeah, and I'm not hacking on Trey personally, just using him as an example. (And no doubt Trey is now underpaid for his production) We see this all the time with other players as well. As soon as a player at their position starts making a lot more money than they do, they want to re-negotiate in the middle of their deal.

you ever watch trey Hendrickson..unlike a lot of other pass rushers he totally neglects the other aspects of defensive line play..he never gets out of his wrestling match with the offensive tackle..he stood out because our defense was so lousy the majority of the year

I think he's basically saying Hendrickson had so many sacks because none of the other guys were able to get there sooner, which does have at least some merit.
But the goal is not to have the NFL sack leader, it's to have the most team sacks.
I think Hendrickson would still be in the 12-15 range with more prolific pass rushers on the DL with him.
Dude deserves to be paid near top dollar. He's right up there with Watt and Garrett as one of the best pass rushers in the league over the past 3-5 years.\
Hendrickson's run defense could be better, but it's still solid.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

I would argue it may just be an opinion that is in the (high) minority of posters.
I don't agree with it, but I don't think it deserves a ban/suspension.
IMO if people don't like a poster, utilize the block feature.
