"...but at least it'll be fun to watch"
#1
delete anyone who says something like this lol. This is some truly pathetic cope. Are you here to watch stylish football? or are you here to see your team win?

I've been seeing this sentiment echoed throughout media outlets and fans, and it's laughable. Im not here to discuss whether signing Tee was wrong or right, I just wanted to bring up this ever growing narrative that people are pushing on bengals fans.

At least it will be fun to watch.  Sick

And they say that assuming the defense will continue to be terrible. We dont know if it will improve or not. Just complete nonsense. I know Im not gonna have fun if the offense puts up 30+ and continues to lose those games for a second straight season.

I know many of you agree with this. I just wanted to vent about this AWFUL narrative

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I don't think relying on the same players will yield drastically different results. This is a team that missed the playoffs 2 years in a row.

Definitely needs more talent infusion be it from the draft or free agency.

Spot on. I don't care if it's a shoot out in a perceived "fun game" to watch. If they fall short and lose 52 to 49, I'm disappointed with the outcome.

I am also curious to see if the coaching changes will make a difference.  I don't know how, but it's possible they might make us worse?

Better coaches can make players better. We will see if these are better coaches.
You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or a Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American

This. A better DC and new scheme could make all the difference in turning a bad defense into a top 15 defense.

drafting is going to have to play a huge part of that. Philly knocked out the draft

Leading the NFL in points scored = GREAT But also leading the NFL in points allowed = VERY BAD

W's over L's is the bottom line. I don't care about style points or "fun to watch"

YUP ThumbsUp

Just how things have panned out the past few seasons I believe this draft is condition critical !! They have to get some solid contributors on this swing of the bat.

Yep, not even training camp yet, haven't seen the end of free agency, nor the draft, but they've already determined that the Bengals will lose every game. Hilarious Hilarious Hilarious

True, but didn't they climb all the way to the top?

I think a lot of us think to top 15 gets us 11 or 12 wins. It would be great to be #1, but I would be. thrilled if our offense went to #1 in points and yards per game and our defense was 15th in points and yards per game in 2025.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I wasnt being very negative at all. I actually said the defense can improve, while the narrative assumes it really wont. Anyways it was more about hating thr narrative rather than the signings

Lest we forget despite all the SNAFUs last season we were a missed overtime GWFG from Mac against the Rats from making postseason. He makes that kick we're in full stop. We were also a BAD missed call by the zebras from winning the other Rats game. Yes the defense last year was horrid - and Lou paid with his job. But don't make it out like the entire team was garbage.

Why do you feel the 2024 draft was so bad?

Mims looks to be a very good to great RT. Jackson and Jenkins produced.

I would argue only our 3rd round pick Burton is a major concern. I loved the Newton pick in round 5. Anthony showed potential. Ali was doing very well until injured. Lee and our 2nd TE McClachlan toosoon to evalaute. Johnson showed some positives as well.

It is a huge win to get 1 very good starter in year 1. We have a chance for the 2025 class to be very good in next couple of years. Again, coaches need to develop these athletes. Other than Burton, I did not see bad rookeis.

Our FA signing of Rankins was the worst addition of the year. Keeping Cappa was the worst move keeping a player who had digressed starting in 2023

if the kicker was better, but the defense remained bad, they make the playoffs

if the defense was better, but the kicker remained bad, they make the playoffs

we can both play that game

The D also played better down the stretch when the defense was simplified and Hubbard was pulled from the starting lineup.  They weren't great, by any stretch, but good enough to win.

Well, we didn't score 30 a game last year with these guys. And it wasn't always fun to watch either.
