The whole organization is focused on a better start. I don’t think it’s as simple as more starters in preseason. I think they save a lot of offense for big games down the road.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Playbook does seem a bit vanilla at the start of every season.

Only offseason I understood the slow start was the year Burrow was coming back from his calf injury.

Our whole offense is Burrow drop back and read/diagnose and deliver the ball. Taylor comes up with decent to good route concepts I'm not trying to suggest he does nothing but we don't run alot of designed pass plays and it's understandable when you have good WRs. But for whatever reason Burrow has struggled out of the gate with this and some is due to injury. We just need to do more to help him out maybe a uptick in designed plays, more focus on the run and then play action. I do think more preseason reps will help get more comfortable with the protection and pocket feel.

Watched the Tee and Ja'Marr press conference live, Ja'Marr brought up the slow starts. I think Zac Taylor tries to protect the players from injury and he knows it's a longer season now made even longer if the team makes the playoffs. The starters don't get enough playing time in preseason and it shows. Now that there are only 3 preseason games maybe they should change the way they get the starters playing time. Maybe one quarter for starters in the first PS game, 2 quarters in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd PS game. You have to weigh the chance of injuries against another slow start. I don't know what the answer is but I do know the games they play in September are just as important as the games they play in December and January.

I think teams round into shape gradually.  They hit a stride if they can avoid injury and get hot.  I think Zac subscribes to this as well.  This idea worked for 2 years.  They looked like a juggernaut in 2022 even when Chase was missing games.  I think they'd have won a title if they didn't get Baltimore twice in a row and lose half their o-line before the playoffs.

It is very possible (I am hopeful our OL has 2 new starting guards. An OL needs games to work out the kinks anyway, in 2025 our starting OL needs to play. I hope at least 1st quarter game 1, 2 quarters gae 2 and 1 quarter game 3.

If not, I think we are going to have issues in first 2 weeks that could have been avoided.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Tee talking about his parents was the best part for me. Loved him telling his mom she doesn’t have to ever worry again.

Thanks bud. I just watched the first 8-9 minutes or so but you can see how happy they are to get this part over. Now the best WR duo in the NFL
can focus and just get better with Burrow. Like what Ja'Marr said about starting faster and I always loved Tee as a person let alone what he can do
on the field when healthy. Really happy for these guys.

Hope they both can stay healthy along with Joe and we can build the trenches to be the scariest team in the league. These guys help big time. Cool

Zack gives him 2 plays each snap. They are for different expected defensive looks. He’s given play 1 and play 2 if it’s a different look. Or a run or pass. Joe then can code Jamar or Chase to change their route or they both know to change the route if they see a certain coverage.

Grats to those two. Glad we paid our own. These guys should be more accountable to each other than usual considering their time together. Which hopefully helps in the world of twenty something year old mega millionaire psyche

Having the top WR duo and top QB locked down is pretty sweet. Time to earn those paychecks

Not sure who the female reporter was at the start, but she hollered a question at Chase while Tee was in the middle of talking. It was very rude, and you could see on his face he didn't like it and I don't blame him one bit.

You didn't understand coming back from a burst appendix or a wrist injury on his throwing arm?

Kelsey Conway. She’s the absolute worst.

Can I point out that Tee already made $32m? I feel like that conversation probably already happened last year. He was also under franchise tag for $26m more this year, for a total of $58m. She had to worry before the big contract?

NO team in professional football "saves offense" for big games down the road in the regular season

I'm right there with you. Tee's mom already never had to worry about anything ever again even if he was tagged year-after-year. Tee pulled a Bull Durham, and even if speaking from the heart, by dropping the appropriate clichés. He's just glad to take of his mom and happy to help the club!

You can, or you could just let it be a nice moment and not over analyze it. Wink

You ‘re dead wrong.
