I live near Dayton and I wish The Dragons the best. It is a great ballpark and it always sells out every game, maybe the best minor league market there is with Dayton Area filling the seats as they do Dayton Flyers basketball.  However it's a long way from A ball to AA and AAA to Majors.  Glad to hear he is doing OK, but he is not on Reds radar for 2025, nor are any A ball players.  Let's see where he is at after around 20 innings, keep us updated.  Always like to hear who is doing good in Reds Minors as THE FUTURE.

I was at a Dragons game to see a Reds Pitcher start on a Rehab game coming back from injury.  However many Dragons Fans said they don't like too see Reds players, They Love Their Dragons.  Of course it is all part of The Reds.  Dayton Fans Love Their Dragons.  Awesome scoreboard with the big green dragon on it, and factory building in background like Baltimore Orioles.

Rest in peace, Tommy Helms. He played small, yet key parts in Reds history.

With Cincinnati from 1964-71, Helms was part of a blockbuster offseason trade that sent Lee May and Jimmy Stewart to the Astros for future Hall of Famer Joe Morgan along with Cesar Geronimo, Jack Billingham, Ed Armbrister and Denis Menke.

During the 1980s, Helms returned to the Reds as a first base coach and infield instructor. He twice served as an interim manager for the club in place of Pete Rose. In 1988, he managed 27 games while Rose served a 30-day suspension for shoving an umpire.

In 1989, Helms took over in August through the rest of the season after Rose received a lifetime suspension from baseball for betting on games. He did not get the permanent job that went to Lou Piniella ahead of the 1990 season and moved on to coach or manage in the Minor Leagues for other organizations. Helms' nephew, Wes Helms, had a 13-year big league career as well.

McLain (batting 2nd and playing 2nd) and Hays (batting 5th and DHing) are in the starting line up tonight.  Diaz activated also.

Austin Hayes coming through big time in his regular season Reds debut.

I’m beyond ready to send Candellario-Moustakas out to pasture.

Great win putting Reds above .500

Perhaps Hays is just the spark we need? Lux with 4 hits tonight as well.

Yep. Lux now leading the team in hitting with a .273 average.

Ashcraft - Santillan - Pagan . . . all looking very good right now.

Fraley with a much needed 2 for 4 and Trevino with 2 runs scored on a 1 for 3 night and a walk.

Cardinals get shut out for the first time as the Reds move into sole possession of 2nd place. Watching the Cubs leave the bases loaded. 0-0 heading to the bottom of the 3rd in San Diego.

A winning record? In this economy?

Also there's a pretty big difference with McLain in there. A guy getting on base in 3 out of 5 PA instead of a guy going 0-5 is a massive change to a team's day.

I like Espinal, he's a swiss army knife type. Can play defense all over the field and is good at it. Decent little hitter. Good spot starter and bench player. Very nice to have around.

Good news they're giving Candelario a break to find his hitting gloves. Bad news Steer is in lineup. I hate bashing Steer all the time but he has to either get a lot better or have the surgery or something? We just can't afford a kinda regular player batting a buck oh nine.
