I have seen a 101 suggestions and projections by a 101 different sports news organizations and writers regarding the upcoming draft...but the really cool thing..if this team stays healthy I think its gonna be a great year..I think we will see at least a DL, OL and linebacker taken by the team in the draft

I'm seeing a few possibilities for trade partners, like the Eagles, the Bears giving us their #10 pick for him so they don't risk taking an unproven rookie, and a few others, so I'm gaining hope as of today.
I'm getting excited with 11 days til the draft!

Trade chart-wise, that's roughly equivalent to the Bengals getting the 22nd or 23rd pick in the 1st round (right between the two in value).

Many experts are saying only 15 sure fire picks in 2025 draft.
The 22 or 23rd pick would be the NFL sack leader for a maybe.
No thanks if I am the Bengals

Things like that are said most every year. Yet just like any other year, some "can't miss" prospects will flounder and some late round steals will impress on the field.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

You are correct, but that does dismiss the facts it is common for first round picks to not being a stud in year 1 or never. The further the pick is from #1, the more likely the pick is not a stud.
I think fans get in their heads since it is the 1st round, teams are idiots if they miss. Reality is the 17th pick in the draft is not close to the 1st pick of a non-QB in the draft. I mention QB as many teams draft a QB in first 5 rounds only for it to fail miserably.
I have always said once a player is drafted, it is irrelevent when they were picked. You are correct many 3rd round picks and later outperform 1st round picks so in the end, a team can miss on a 1st round pick, but hit big time on the 4th round pick making it a wash as far as success rate.
I hope we hit a homerun, but my point is it is far from a slam dunk for many reasons to performance to injury will determine a 1st round player's success.

As we head to the draft in 7 days, the off season is winding down. After the draft, we may have some roster movement, but usually not a lot based on our history. We only have 6 picks to get better, that is a huge negative in my opinion as this draft seems to have a lot of very good players from 30 to 75. We have one pick in that range at #49. Draft position matters since we only have 6 picks and we are in the middle of every round.
I am an optimist, but am I being overly optimistic we can use the draft to get us back into the playoffs and hopefully win a Super Bowl in 2025?
Are you optimistic or pessiistic heading into the draft?

Last 5 at #17:
2024: DE Dallas Turner, Bama, MIN
2023: CB Christian Gonzalez , Oregon, NE
2022: OG Zion Johnson, BC, LAC
2021: OT Alex Leatherwood, Bama, LV
2020: WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma, DAL
Last 5 at #10:
2024: QB JJ McCarthy, Michigan, MIN
2023: OT Darnell Wright, Tenn, CHI
2022: WR Garrett Wilson, Ohio State, NYJ
2021: WR DaVonta Smith, Alabama, PHI
2020: OT Jedric Wills, Bama, CLE
The WR's and Gonzalez are very good. Avoid the Bama OT's.
HR's in the bunch? Lamb, for sure. Gonzalez is a triple. Wilson & Smith XBHs for sure 2/5 at 10 and 2/5 at #17. I think Wrightvisxan EBH, too. 3/5 at #10.
The rest are iffy. Leatherwood an outright bust. Wllls very disappointing. McCarthy is in that region as well.
Johnson & Turner have been OK. Singles.

I am optimistic and I don't think you are being overly optimistic. Coaching on Defense I think was our biggest weakness last season.
This has already been addressed and we didn't lose good players in FA besides Mike Hilton and Dax Hill could be great at Slot Corner.
I find it unlikely that we can get a trade partner to trade back with in the first round, but in the 2nd round we certainly could to add
more picks. Very optimistic heading into the Draft myself.

Eh, I think he shown his best with the Bengals on our SB run.

Yeah it’s a hard no on bringing Apple back.
He wasn’t that great to begin with and he will be 30 at the start of this season.

And he is a bit of a head case, when he was younger he was our kind of an asshole. Now, not so much.

He might should be petitioning the Colts, since that's where the coach that drafted him, and then brought him to the Bengals is now serving.

You can't lump McCarthy in with any group. He hasn't played due to injury. I'm a Buckeye, so I obviously wouldn't be defending a Wolverine unless it were justified. We'll probably find out about him soon enough.

I agree. So of the 9, it is very early for 2023 and 2024 picks,
I see one all pro (Lamb) out of 9 since we removed McCarthy. It thinks that says the odds are agains us finding an out the gate great pick with #17. But to many fans, it should be a given Bengals hit on 17 and if they do not, the FO and scouting department suck.
