He's moving so fast he needs to get coached up on settling down at the point of attack. I think that's very coachable. It also looked like he had no help in the pass rush. QB often just ran the other way. I don't love the lack of "production" in college, but calling him a bust right now is ridiculous.

There are no sure picks in a draft. I'm sure Clowney would be viewed as a sure pick.
He's had an above average to good career, but not wildly successful. He's played 11 years. 9 or 9.5 sacks 4 times. 6 once. 5.5 once. 4.5 once. 3 once. 2 once. 0 twice.

Another way to look at this is that IF Stewart had 8 sacks last year...he's likely a Top 5 pick.

You'd take 9 sacks + elite run defense all day. Maybe with the 1st overall pick you'd rather have an elite pass rusher with average run defense, but still. He was the #1 positional pick drafted where QB's ae normally taken in the NFL. I think Stewart will be a better run defender than Hubbard based on his video and also college rankings. If he does get 8-10 sacks by year 2 or 3 and is also an elite run defender, he is probably an all pro. ![]() Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

He had an ego the size of Texas and I always questioned his heart and work ethic. With that said, this has got to be one of my favorite plays of all time in college football https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=nipUMmd4Pk0&t=0s&ab_channel=SFCocking ![]()

Agree, plus Stewart is already so good at setting the edge in the run game I think he could start and help right away in this area and we could let Ossai rush the passer on passing downs to begin with. Murphy was bad last year setting the edge. But like you said, even when rushing the passer Stewart is very disruptive and the QB often ran out of the pocket trying to avoid the sack. Now Murphy, we could start labeling as a bust this season if he doesn't show up and play at least decent. Stewart might make this tough for him though, we certainly have a lot more competition at End this year and shouldn't be starting a hurt Hubbard over these guys.

NFL QBs are not going to hold the ball with him coming in from one side and Hendrickson coming in from the other. Sack or not, Brad is correct, they will be rushing throws or throwing it away. He's a huge man with great speed, and not a lot of professional QB's are going to want him hitting them.

Made me open my eyes especially when he was dominating the guy we want in the 2nd round today Savaiinaea in the Senior Bowl. He was dominating everybody in the Senior Bowl though it looked like.

Not a chance. I'm guessing that's the hang up if they offered him $32M.

Yeah, this guy comes at the QB fast and relentless. Crazy fast first step.

It will be different, but Trey doesn't have a choice, just take the increase in dough. He is only making 16 mil this year and he isn't getting any younger. I don't think it will be long and Trey will sign the increase, we just don't know the details. Like you guy's say, it won't be a ton of up front money now though.
