Welcome Demetrius Knight
#1
a 25-year-old linebacker with comparisons to Germaine Pratt the man he is likely to replace.  He was a team captain in his only year at SC and apparently is a clubhouse leader.    Was he the best choice in round 2...probably not with what we know now.  Hopefully time will prove us wrong

Had players I would have preferred, like Watts, but not upset with the pick.

I was pulling for the Bengals to draft two linebackers, so one is off the board.

Big, fast, defenders are good. Hopefully we now have the coaching staff to develop young guys. I am just happy they are addressing the odious defense.

That pick was in quick, that's what I hate, should have dealt back. Trying to look at positive of this bad value pick, they have a possible NFL ready ILB to free up Pratt's contract. They can call a guard or use this toward Trey's raise to pay less or have one less year. I'm scared they won't improve guard, I wouldn't have minded taking BPA over guard or Watt but we're here instead. I know we should give this a shot but this is a D grade that they didn't deal back.

I wanted Demetrious Knight as our Viper, he is not like Pratt, stupid comparison. I thought we could get this guy in the 4th round because
of his age and kept looking for him in my Mocks but he was never there. Great speed, great smarts and will start next to Logan right off the
bat coming off the edge when needed, he wasn't used as a blitzer much from what I understand at SC.

I wanted us to draft Guard here though, Ratledge or Watts the FS. I like the player, not where he was taken, we could of traded back and
gotten him pretty sure. But the player is not the one to hate on here at all. All you guys are going to like Knight if he can stay healthy.

He's not fast.
  • Short-area and lateral twitch appear to be average.
  • Can become impatient during scrape and trigger.
  • Below-average burst limits pursuit success from back side.
  • Might not have enough speed for man coverage as a pro.
  • Below-average elusiveness and production as blitzer.

You all keep talking about his speed. That's not what his scouting report says. Speed is a question.

BS, he hit 22 MPH ON THE ***** FIELD last year, not in a forty without pads....

An analyst mentioned his age was a concern, but another noted the Bengals window is now, not when Knight would be looking for a second contract.

Something I had not considered.

He will be 26 by the time the playoffs start.
I see Mike Brown is alive and well. Weird.

If we don't get a Guard soon we might need Burrow insurance.

Bengals putting all that money into the offense. Won’t be able to afford many 2nd contracts on D. If he can step in right away and give 4 solid years that’s a great pick.

I mean, he ran 4.58 in the 40.  That's pretty fast for a LB.
