Stop.

Dude is ass-tastic,
Why personally go after Murphy? Do you think this helps you look better in some way?
No doubt Murphy the football player has not met expectations, not even close, but I am no fan of attacking any player or coach PERSONALLY. To me, it has no place for constructive conversation to take place.

I'm not attacking him personally. You can respect someone while at the same time acknowledge that someone sucks at their job,
I play fighting games professionally; or at the very least, try to compete at the highest level on my spare time. You can find me getting my ass kicked at the biggest events on livestream. I don't take it personally when people tell me I'm ass at something.

It's not MMA fighting. You flatter me. I'm too flabby and out of shape and probably couldn't throw a punch.
Just google "Bigzo Mortal Kombat". You'll probably find plenty.

Word is he was spotted at Kenwood mall along with Noah Fant.
I heard he landed at Lunken moments ago on the bengals private jet. About to get picked up in an UberX and courted at skyline for breakfast.

What is a bigger distraction...Trey Hendrickson sitting out his contract dispute in Florida or last season Ja'Marr sitting out his contract dispute in Camp

As for Trey, a seasoned vet missing camp time may help him and his body in 2025. But more importantly, an offensive player needs reps so in Chase's case to help timing, to learn new plays and improve versatility. Trey can come in tomorrow, suit up and start playing and not lose much.
To me the bigger concern is Stewart. He is a rookie and needs every meeting and practice. They need to get him siged and in camp ASAP or risk him doing little to help our 2025 defense.
Chase being in camp las year also was a distrction. Trey is out of sight and out of mind right now. I am glad he chose to stay in Florida and not be a distraction.

I would go far to say, if Chase has a normal training camp last year. Bengals don’t lose to patriots, make playoffs.

Oh I actually expected only 1 (Chase) to be signed to a long-term big $$ deal.
However, I would have prioritized Hendrickson over Higgins after Chase because of the typical more difficult ability to find a perennial double-digit sack guy vs a WR who can put up ~1000 yards.
I would have focused on keeping Hendrickson for another 2-3 years beyond this year and drafted Egbuka instead of Stewart, or Tre Harris in Rd 2 over DK.
But it is what it is.
If Hendrickson is re-signed, great.
If Stewart ends up panning out, great.
I just have my skepticism on both things happening because of previous history, and I do see this team declining in ability to perennially push for deep playoff runs if their pass rush greatly drops without Hendrickson.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

I'm starting to think this is the path. If Trey sits out the year, we're probably never going to see him in stripes again. Stewart likely has pissed everyone off and I don't see him every getting the developmental help he needs. Pretty much burned up that opportunity by not being able to shut the hell up. I'm putting him in the John Ross/Jackson Carmen camp at this point if he ever plays here. Frankly, I think he's just a huge distraction right now and don't really care if he ever plays.
Training camp has started and we need to have the whole team on the field practicing. Give Trey a final offer that they think they can afford and if he can't bring himself to play for that, then let's get some guys in here that do want to be here. Time for screwing around is long over. Let's get moving.

Is Stryker still around? I had neighborhood cred back in the day just because I could win while using him.

Bengals will probably do nothing with DE unless we have a camp injury until after week 1. Simply, if they sign somone now and are on roster week #1, their contract is guaranteed. If Trey and or Stewart come in after week 1, we could then at some point cut the new DE signee and not eat cap dead money. At a mimimum it gives the team options to wait.
I would argue a vet pass rusher can be plug and play as well so no big deal if they miss camp and one game.

I'd be skeptical that any DE who isn't ultra ass would agree to be in that position, though.

Dude is ass-tastic,
As much as Murphy disappointed last year, he's still more proven than Shemar Stewart.
Everyone was super excited about Stewart scoring a 10.0 RAS, but Murphy was close with 9.71 coming out of college.
Murphy was far more productive in college though, and actually has some NFL production (albeit not much).
To me, it's Hendrickson and Ossai as the starters with Murphy first off the bench (starting if Hendrickson misses time) and Stewart is after that.
Heck, with how far behind Stewart is in his development, he might be last on the DE pecking order behind even Sample and Johnson if/when he finally actually joins the team.
We have to hope for Murphy to step up in this crucial 3rd year because they really have no one else besides Hendrickson (who is not with Bengals currently) and Ossai (who really only had a good ~6 final weeks of the season).
Not how I would have addressed the DL this season, but it is what it is at this point.
Murphy and Ossai are about the only hope without Hendrickson.
