For a DE, I am sure he has excellent coverage skills. For a LB? Different story. Trey is 6'4", 270. Much bigger dude.
Interestingly, they graded out very similarly at PFF vs the run and pass.
But given our division, I think we are gonna favor bigger DEs:
Hendrickson: 6'4", 270
Ossai: 6'4", 263 (former LB)
Stewart: 6'6", 290
Murphy: 6'5", 275
C. Sample: 6'3", 272
C. Johnson: 6'3", 265
You can call him a LB, but his snap count is at a DE.

Wow. Damning stuff if true. And I hesitate to give Jones the benefit of the doubt.

Anyone that thinks Trey and parsons have similar trade value are high as a kite.
Trey couldn’t fetch one 1st round pick. Parsons could probably fetch 2 firsts plus more.
Age matters here.

Again, I am not saying he is a LB, but the discussion in question was about playing him as a Vyper. In that context, the comment was made about his coverage skills.
It wasn't my comment, but I read it as being....if you are gonna play him as a Vyper, lookout, because his coverage skills are lacking.
Thus, you are talking about his coverage skills as a Vyper/LB. Not as a DE. At end, you are right, who cares? Though the size/run D then is a factor, but he grades out similar to Trey.
But I do not think either guy gets traded.

We are discussing the Vyper role - which is an OLB who can rush the passer, drop in coverage ( and set the edge. EDIT)

I have been spelling Viper with an i as you can tell. Is it spelled with a y?

Nate, I think Golden calls it Vyper. Michigan has a Viper.
But the point is the same.

So Parson signed a 5 year contract and wanted to redo this contract after his 3rd season, then again after his 4th season. Sounds a bit like Hendrickson wanting to redo his contract every year when someone else gets paid more. What good is a contract if these players want to redo it every year? What if everyone on the team took the same approach? Instead of complaining, play out your contract you agreed to then sign with whoever you when you fulfill that contract.

Are you high? This is typical for high end talent on rookie contracts. Chase did the same damn thing. It is standard procedure in the NFL, and Dallas is completely in the wrong here if what he says is true. Trying to completely cut out his agent from negotiations is just ridiculous.

Dirty little secret- Jerry Jones is low key pretty cheap if you go an look at his history over the last 20 years. He still operates with the 90's early FA era mentality.

If Dallas(gigantic if) were to trade Micah Parsons then I would be willing to bet that they would go full tank mode and enter the Archie sweep stakes! So I would imigane they would take a bunch of calls on other players.

Eh, I'd bet Arch stays at UT for one more season, especially going off his 2 uncles history.

Also whether he stays may be directly related to who has the first pick. If its the Browns at the top, I bet he stays in school. Probably some other teams on that list too.

I hear you Stewy. But given what Eli did to San Diego, I could see Arch dictating where he goes.
However; I don't believe he will enter the draft in 2026. He has not been a full season starter and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Mannings tend to use their entire eligibility.
I think he will declare in 2027 at the earliest.

I can't see Jerry Jones' ego (or love of making money) ever letting him tank a season. He'd be much more likely to make a 49ers-Trey Lance type trade because he'd see it as buying success which is what he wants to do as a businessman.
Since 1968 (Bengals first year) the Cowboys have had a top-5 pick only 7 times... and they only earned it 3 times. The other 4 of those 7 they traded up from out of the top-5 to get it.
